Looking at Wilt's career you can make a great case that he should have won 5 to 6 MVP's

He was clearly the most valuable player in 1962 as Lebron was in 2018.

As take Wilt off that 1962 team and they struggle to win 20 games.

In 1964 he lead a historical defence while averaging over 35 and he was also getting 5 APG as well.

In 1972 he was the best player on a historical team that won 33 straight games.

And he averaged 15/19/4 on 65% while leading the league in rpg and FG% plus blocked shots and also in defensive win shares.

And looking at the voting criteria for prior years.

If Russell won the award over Wilt in 1962 because of team record then Wilt should have won it over Kareem in 1972.

There are plenty of contentious MVPs. Plenty of players who would have been worthy winners who came runner up.

Very few have been actually 'robbed'

One that comes to mind for me is Barkley in 1990.

He polled 38 1st place votes to Magic's 27, but we all know the story of him being left off a number of ballots. He also won the Sporting News MVP, so sentiment was that he was the MVP.
