Curry
2015. No
2016. No
2017. No
2018. No
2019. No
2022. ?
At minimum it would take Six Finals to get 1 FMVP--very Kobe-esque.
Kobe
2000. No
2001. No
2002. No
2004. No
2008. No
2009. Yes
1 for 6
Will Curry get his first Finals MVP after six Finals trips?
LeBron only has four. Good luck.

I don't think he gets one. This is his last chance most likely and there's a good chance warriors lose. Even if they win I can see at Steph having another sub par series and losing out to Klay or something

Damn, so 0 for 6? What about on his 7th try then?

I see no way he doesn't get it this year, if the Warriors win. Even if it's close, the voters will 100% be voting for him, one of his teammates would have to lap him, and I just don't see that happening.

I think you're right about this. I looked at all three playoff series this year and Curry was comfortably the #1 option, followed by Klay #2, and Poole #3 for every series (except for one where Wiggins was the #3).

How many years does Bronie have to play to get six FMVP? He's already played 19 and still falls way short. So how many seasons does he need? 28? 29? 30?

Steph not making it as far as Bron as often is an argument for Steph? I know runner ups don't mean much but it is better than losing earlier :confusedshrug:

I wasn't making an argument for Curry over LeBron. however if he wins five he definitely deserves to be put in the greatest of all time conversation

I don't see how Curry isn't awarded it if the Warriors win unless he's significantly outperformed.
Even if he underperforms again, the lifetime-achievement factor is bound to tip the scales in his favor as long as his case is debatably close. The media knows they'll get too much backlash if they even arguably snub him this time around, especially with how Iguodala's FMVP has been impugned over time.
He definitely needs to win it this year to complete his legacy in the general public's eyes; he probably won't get a better chance later while he's on the downslope of his prime. The Finals MVP is the only glaring hole in his resume, and I don't see anyone entering the top ten without winning one (Russell being the exception that proves the rule).
