View Full Version : Ime Udoka deserves a lot of credit for this playoff run

Whether Boston goes on to win the title or not.

Every series I see him adjusting the lineup based on the opponent and also the flow of each game. He’s been pushing all the right buttons and it’s paid off. I frequently see coaches sticking stubbornly to a particular philosophy or lineup throughout a series and making poor or non existent adjustments. From what Ive seen Udoka has really done a nice job of putting good combinations on the floor and knowing when to ride a wave and when to tweak the recipe.

Of course you have to have great players and no coach can win without significant talent on the roster. But if feels like he’s really getting the most you could ask a coach to get out of this group.

What makes it even more amazing is the fact that he's still a rookie coach.

The fact that he can hold his players accountable and they react accordingly speaks volumes to what the players think of him.

More than anything he deserves credit for their midseason turnaround. They were 20-21 at the halfway point and Tatum was in full chuck mode. They looked more like a play in team than a Finals team.

Nick Nurse was also a rookie coach when Raptors won the Chip.

Spo named top 15 coach in history earlier this year, yet got outcoached by Udoka.

Kerr could see the same demise.

Yep. Him and udoka are both better coaches than ty lue ever was. Plus their respective teams had game 1 wins in the finals over the warriors unlike the cavs before.

The warriors need to stop focusing on Tatum like he's Kobe and let him go 1v1. Their strategy of letting Horford and white and smart take open 3s is retarded. I think they assumed they wouldn't make them under high stakes road atmosphere but that was clearly false.

They probably never expected those guys to be open and hot during the fourth quarter, especially when they already had a double-digit lead entering that quarter. Too bad they fell for the bait tho.
