The Warriors are planning on keeping Jordan Poole, which means that a few people will have to go this off season. Klay is getting up in age and coming off an injury, so the best (non-emotional) decision would be to trade get rid of him.

Hypothetical speaking, if you were in the Warriors front office, would you trade Thompson or Kyle Kuzma? You get a younger player, a good defender, but someone who isn't as good a shooter.

Out of all the players they could potentially get for Klay, why in the world would they target Kuzma?

In a vacuum Lavine is more valuable but you mess with that chemistry at your peril. It's a winning formula and you don't want to anger Curry.

If I'm the Warriors front office, I'd do it for Kelly Oubre!

Kuz is on 13m, and Klay is going to be on 40m. Kuz isn't a bad choice, but I definitely want more than just him for Klay. And something usable, not fodder to make it work.

What the hell is wrong with OP? Why would W's trade good defender and one of the best shooters of all time for a guy who don't defend and can't shoot?
Who will you offer next for Klay, Udonis Hasleem?

Yeah I don't get this trade Klay thing...he's likely going to go on an MVP run next season. He needs to get his shooting down but remember he was out for 2 years and he still gives you 30pt games in Dal, Den, Memphis series. Russ had 3 30pt games all season.

I can't tell if the comments on this thread are a joke or what.

Klay shoots the 3-ball at a high%. For comparison, Poole's 3 pt % is: 34.1%. Klay's is 41.7%. Kuzma is: 33.9%.

Shooting over 40% for 3 is elite. Why does it matter? GSW's motion offense led by Curry involves him breaking down defenses and kicking. So you need an elite 3 point shooter. Poole is not there yet and may not be; his game is slashing.

For slashers, GSW already has Wiggins and Poole. They don't need Kuzma.

Klay is a premier 2-way player. We'll see if he gets back to where he was prior to the injuries but even in his current state, he's an essential piece of the puzzle.
