This is similar to the international format giving the US problems against far less talented international teams

Yeah but I'm pretty sure that Nigerian team had a starting lineup of mostly NBA guys. AND1 only had one NBA player

Nigeria only had 3 NBA players - all massive benchwarmers

So the AND1 team would face a smaller talent gap because they wouldn't be facing an all-star team like Nigeria did.. Furthermore, AND1 has at least 3 borderline NBA dudes

Why did they lose? Was it a strategic thing or format issue

So much about the NBA is not just talent.

Have you guys ever played a pick up game where the other team has a coach and they actually practice? I played such a team when I was younger. They were way less athletic and less skilled than us but they just run sets to perfection time and time again. They get open shots almost every time and we couldn't score against a bunch of stiff nerds because their defensive rotation was also excellent. We lost like 21 - 5.

That's pretty much how it's gonna go on AND1 vs NBA team. Only worse.

I think Rafer Alson was the greatest streetballer of all time. And he was an average player in the NBA.
