43 points. 10 reb. 4 assists on 26 shots.

Masterful performance.:applause:

Games like this make you climb the all time list.

He's cemented into the top 10 now no matter what happens from here on out.

LOL this series is doing a lot for Curry but it's really just stopping a freefall if the Warriors lose. The combination of the Celtics just kinda bouncing between 5 players (Brown, Tatum, Williams, Smart, Horford) and Curry putting up insane stats

Curry - 137 pts (.500)
Brown - 89 (.440)
Tatum - 89 (.341)
Thompson - 69 (.358)
Wiggins - 66 (.433)
Smart - 62 (.442)
White - 56 (.378)
Poole - 50 (.429)
Horford - 47 (.586)
Looney - 28 (.722)
Williams - 25 (.923)
Porter - 23 (.636)

He's not getting in the top ten with a loss but it's sending a clear message to the guys behind him (Leonard, Giannis, Durant, CPIII) that they are never going to catch him legacy wise.

CPIII has passed Iverson, CPIII is pretty much the case for why Iverson isn't an all-time great. Paul jumped from team to team and was productive while once Iverson left his Philly system as the #1 scorer he failed to adjust his game. For me Allen Iverson is a better version of James Harden

Why isn't he getting in the top 10 with a loss? He's averaging 34ppg on great efficiency and there's nobody else playing with him on his team.

If Steph keeps playing this well until game 7 and loses, and Boston players keep playing like shiet, he deserves the FMVP.

Agreed. Considering his level of play, what was at stake, and how little help he got from his supporting cast, this was the best performance of his career, and a potentially legacy changing one.

Because the NBA has 75+ years of history and legacy jumps don't happen based on single/games series. For me top 20 is a big deal and you have four definable tiers...

1 - Jordan, Wilt, Lebron, Bird, Kareem
2 - Bill, Magic, Mikan, Kobe, Oscar
3 - West, Duncan, M. Malone, Hakeem, Stockton
4 - Curry, Dr. J, Pettit, Havlicek, Dirk

Curry is borderline 3/4 tier

Curry is still 5K points behind Jerry West
Curry is still 6 All-Star appearences behind West
Curry is still 6 first team spots behind West
Curry is 5 All-NBA defensive spots behind West
Curry is 5,000 assits behind Oscar
Curry is 5,000 points behind Oscar
Curry is 4 titles behind George Mikan
Curry is 5 titles behind John Havlicek
Curry is 2 All-NBA first's behind Hakeem
Curry is 5 All-NBA Defense ranking spots behind John Stockton
Curry is 3 All-NBA rankings behind John Stockton
Curry is 10,000 assists behind John Stockton
Curry is 2,000 steals behind John Stockton
Curry is 10,000 points behind M. Malone
Curry is 1 MVP behind M. Malone
Curry is 2 Rings behind Tim Duncan
Curry is 10,000 points behind Kobe Bryant
Curry is 10,000 points and 2 "MVP's" behind Dr. J
Curry is 18th in efficiency which has him behind...Wilt (2), Durant(4), West (6), Pettit (8), Oscar(10), Kobe (12)

For Curry to be in the top ten he has to be top 2/3 at his position (PG) which means he's got to get into the conversation with Oscar and Magic...he's not at 25K in points or 10 All-Star appearances. His defensive issues are always going to follow him for his career. Realistically he needs a 3rd MVP and 5 rings and he needs to hit 25K points for him to be a credible top 10 player.

This is some Curry hate.

Curry is better player than half the players in your tier 2.

And in modern NBA I take Curry over Magic. Magic can't shoot and would be given the westbrook treatment.

You said "Curry peaked in OKC" which was the 2016 WCF.

Question: Who did Curry play in the very next series (hint: This would be the 2016 Finals).

Curry peaking in OKC is a joke from a '16 RS game. It doesn't have anything to do with Lebron.

Sucks the Celtics couldn't make a shot late to really put the pressure on him

He was scoreless and turning it over per usual before Klay hit that huge shot to put them up 3 with a few minutes left. Knew the game was over right then.

Props to little steph though... best game he's ever had in the playoffs. He needs about 50 more of those to catch lebron.

Right now he's still a dame caliber player. Dame has had better games.. several actually... so I'm not gonna overreact

His cast is absurdly stacked and the Celtics can't win close games. So it's whatever.

John Stockton was not even the best player on his team - much less in the league. You must have forgotten Steph's unanimous MVP - much less the 2nd. And you totally didn't address ranking Stockton on the same tier as Duncan. Curry has 6 years ranked higher than Stockton's highest MVP voting (7th) - Duncan has 9 years.

Stockton - MVP voting
7th: 1989
8th: 1995

MVP's are fine as a single metric but it's a media based award that changes with different social and cultural times. When Stockton was leading the NBA in assists they were giving MVP's to Magic so he could catch up with Bird. When Durant and Lebron were clearly the best players in the game the award was lowered for Harden and Westbrook. Chris Paul has never gotten an MVP even though he's turned around four different teams in his career.

He should have three of them for three different teams (New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Phoenix) he took three teams that weren't playoff teams and put them into the playoffs.
