Had Tatum played average the series would have been over in 5. It’s funny because not one of MJ’s 6 titles did he face a bed-wetter.

That is one of the most savage lines in the history of sports.

As if Malone had just played average in 1997 the Jazz would have won the title that season.

In in-game 6 of the 1997 finals Karl Malone went 7/15 at the free-throw line in a 4 point loss

he went 7/15 from the field and 7/15 at the free-throw line

People do not realize how badly Karl Malone shit the bed in that series,

game 1 - the infamous mailman doesn't deliver on Sunday, missed 2 free throws with 9 seconds left, Jordan game-winner

game 2 - 6/20 shooting

game 3 - great game, 37/13

game 4 - another solid game, 23/10/6

game 5 - 2 point loss, 7/17, 5/9 at the free-throw line for 19 points

game 6 - 7/15 from the field and free-throw line in a 4-point loss

Malone basically gift-wrapped a title for Jordan in 1997 and then Stockton also gift-wrapped another title for Jordan in 1998.

As Stockton only averaged 9 points and 8 assists on 48 percent shooting in the 1998 finals while Malone was basically single handly carrying the Jazz offence.

Wilt was basically being gift-wrapped a title against an aging celtics team that had a mediocre record in 69 but he blew it big time.
