View Full Version : Curry, Luka and Giannis - that's it

That's it, that's the only real stars in the NBA.
Tatum is a fraud, Durant is washed, Jokic is afraid of the moment, Harden is fat, Embiid is still immature, Butler doesn't have the offensive consistency.
Curry, Luka and Giannis, that's the NBA right there, though Giannis is in danger of slipping out, cause honestly he should have destroyed these fraud Celtics.
I would say Giannis is more like this age D-Rob, and that's good, but only Luka and Curry are bonafide unstoppable offensive forces now.
Luka lost to the FMVP, no shame in that, but the league better be on notice if they don't want a Dallas 3-peat starting next season. It all depends on one center player coming their way.

No, he isn't.
He's afraid to take on the scoring load, instead trying to pass it off to random 3 point shooters. He can have whole games where he stand on the 3 point line setting screens.
Not a real star yet. He can change it, but needs to be in much better shape and needs to be score first every game.

He started games aggressively in the GS series but the problem was the Warriors just ran him ragged on defense, and there was no way he could sustain the scoring burden the whole game. As he got more tired, he got more passive. I dont think it was necessarily a mindset issue, just a sheer physical one. The Nuggets were super undermanned against the Warriors and Joker was hustling his ass off, but especially at that size you just cant keep it up for long. He was constantly gassed.
If that team stays healthy next year, theyre gonna be a handful for anyone.

He's been absolutely wasted on that team.
Swap him with Embiid on those Philly teams and he has several finals appearances and maybe a ring already.

He put up 31/13/6... on 58% shooting.
He is a better player than Luka. Comfortably too - since he is actually good on both ends, while Luka was a cone on defense.

Being a star is more a matter of popularity than it is basketball skill. So you really have to add Bronie and Chris Paul to the list.

Lebron is not even an All-NBA player in earnest.

I agree. But like I said, being a star is more about popularity than basketball skill. As far as name recognition goes, he's up there at the top.

He just had his best scoring PS series this year. Are you even watching the games? :facepalm

Jokic averaged 27 ppg (66% TS) in the regular season, 10th in the league, and 31 (64% TS) against the champs in the playoffs.
He is a beast. The only player that you could realistically rank equal to him is Giannis.

Nah bro, not a star, at least according to the infinite wisdom of the OP.
