15 years seems to be the minimum.

If Wilt had won 8 rings in his first eight seasons then retired afterwards while averaging over 35 PPG and like 25 rebounds.

There wouldn't be an argument nowadays for Goat longevity be damned.

As most people value peak when ranking the Goats in sports.

And Jordan's peak from 1988 to 1993 just destroys Lebron's peak.

As Jordan was just on another level with his two-way dominance.

Averaging over 40 PPG in the finals while shooting over 50% as a SG is just God tier.

Also in a sport like tennis if a player in his first 5 years achieved the Grand Slam in each of those five years then retired afterwards due to being bored.

That player would be hailed as the undisputed goat despite his poor longevity as his peak would blow everyone else's out of the water.

You bring up a hypothetical and somehow relate that to jordan who was a 1-9 loser his first 7 years... literally the opposite of your hypothetical.

No, Jordan getting carried to rings in the weak 90s isn't the same as a tennis player winning 20 grand slams in a row.

Awesome try though.

LeBron has the best 5 year peak.

2012-2016
5 Finals
5 MVPs (3x FMVP, 2x MVP)
3 Goat Rings

Lebron had 1st options play sidekick for him

Jordan won 2 three-peats with true 2nd option at sidekick, so he had to defeat maximum defensive attention (carry scoring load in playoffs and Finals)

Meanwhile, Lebron is sitting their averaging 25 for entire title runs and having sidekicks nearly match him in the Finals

No comparison

Btw, Lebron wasn't all defense in his 30's... AT ALL... so he wasn't even an elite 2-way player.. lol

Jordan has two more wins than Lebron in the finals while playing 20 less games.

As For Lebrons defense. A center Hakeem has 28 more career steals than Lebron in 136 less games.

That's cause LeBron didnt peter out mentally and physically after only 7 full seasons and quit the league.

Steals are more about bad passes than it actually picking ones pocket etc..

Jordan was the best player in basketball from

87 - 93: 7x years

Retired for last two years of his physical prime before entering his early to mid 30s

96 - 98: 3x years

10 year stretch and if he wasn’t swinging at curve balls it would’ve been 12 years as the best player in professional basketball.

LeBron was best from 2009 - 2018 also a ten year stretch.

If he couldn't play more than 7 full seasons in a row, what makes you think he could do 12 in a row?

Nobody cares. If you put '16 Lebron and his Cavs roster on the Lakers nobody bats an eye. The ring is over exagerrated, because he won in Cleveland.

Ali. He was the best boxer from 1964 until 1967. Then was the best boxer from 1971-1976. He was dominant for 9 years

Fewer Finals is worse. 6 is low for most top 5 players. What's better, 6 for 6 or 6 for 7?

1991. Only lost 2 games (both by 2 pts) and put up 31.1 ppg 8.4 apg with just 2.5 TOV and the advanced stats are better than any other player in their title run as well and he only had one off night in that entire run.

If you left your home atleast once in a while you'd find out that nobody outside the Lebron stan bubble really considers "ring's greatness", some contextualize the 2016 chip, but not in the sense that it make up for several ring's worth or makes his blunders forgotten.

Wrong, fewer Finals is worse.

If it was 6 for 10 it could be better.

Who's better Jerry West or Larry Bird?
