That might be true.

Jason Tatum lost in the finals, had 4.5 BPM / .110 WS48 / .562 TS% playoff run, and people stripping superstar status off of him.

Durant lost in the first round with epic -2.9 BPM / -.026 WS48 / .526 TS% performance, and I heard "best player in the world" takes.

This is truly inexplicable phenomenon, but it's true.
