View Full Version : Man denied giving blood after refusing to answer if he was pregnant

A Scottish man was turned away from a blood donation center because he refused to indicate whether he was pregnant, according to a report.
Leslie Sinclair, a 66-year-old father of two, had donated some 125 pints of blood over five decades before he was barred from his altruistic efforts during a trip Wednesday amid a push for new donors, Daily Mail reported.
Sinclair, of Stirling in central Scotland, was told to complete a form asking whether he was with child or had been pregnant in the last six months, prompting him to reply that the question did not apply to a man in his late 60s.
“I am angry because I have been giving blood since I was 18 and have regularly gone along,” Sinclair told the outlet Friday. “I’m very happy to do so without any problem.”
Sinclair told a staffer at the Albert Halls clinic in Stirling it was “impossible” for him to be pregnant, but soon learned that he needed to answer the query in order to give blood. He now has no plans on returning to the donation center.
The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service has also announced plans to recruit 16,000 new donors in the next year, but anyone who considers giving blood will be asked if they’re pregnant to “promote inclusiveness,” Daily Mail reported.
Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service officials said all donors are now asked whether they’re pregnant as part of a “duty to promote inclusiveness,” according to the report.
“We appreciate the support of each and every one of our donor community and thank Mr. Sinclair for his commitment over a long number of years,” SNBTS director Marc Turner told Daily Mail.
“Whilst pregnancy is only a relevant question to those whose biological sex or assigned sex at birth is female, sex assigned at birth is not always visually clear to staff,” Turner said.
Noting “changes in society,” Turner said the agency is now asking all potential donors the same questions during appointments, including whether they’re pregnant.

So in short, they understand that only people who were born female can give birth, and that makes a lot of sense. But now they have to ask with a straight face, everybody, even if it's a 95 year old man, if they are pregnant, or have been pregnant in the last 6 months, because a lot of loud mentally ill people are making a lot of noise.
And by mentally ill people, I'm not referring to the dudes who think they are female, but your average hardcore irrational, hardcore angry leftists. The type who think black people are too stupid to get an ID or make a copy at Kinkos, and so they want to champion for them.
I'm referring to people that look and act the way this person looks in this image.

It’s stupid obviously.. but when you have retards that believe men can get pregnant they will cater to the lowest common denominator..

Questionnaire forms have been asking people to declare their gender since they came into existence. And people in the US arguing over a random form at a random blood bank in Scotland is meme tribal stupid shit if I've ever seen it.
That NYPost link is simply click bait for people like jstern to flip out over.

So what?
If the form says „m“ (male) then the question erases itself

I'm not that passive. I cannot follow stupid rituals, for a lack of a better term. Like they said, they are literally denying people from donating blood due to changes in society. And this change comes from mentally ill people. Not mentally ill people who where born man and feel that they are women, but rather mentally ill liberals and politicians taking advantage of them.
When I posted this story, it kept reminding me of this King from around the 1200s or something. And I just didn't know why. But anyone who was to meet this King had to kiss his feet. Even if it was the equivalent of the President of the United States. And I just didn't know why that kept popping into my mind, until right now. And I guess it's that coercion where you have to submit to that stupidity. Answering that question is related, in the same family as a ritual where you have to kiss somebody's feet. Else your blood will be refused, and they won't be able to help someone who might need it. (On a separate note, I remember something about blood donations being big business for whatever group who collects it.)
No matter how big or small, I cannot submit to coerced stupidity. Because of the way it's being shoved down society's throat a lot of people invariably are going to not go along and volunteer out of their own free will to donate blood. And that's on the woke people behind the decision, not the person refuses to check the boxes.
Now if they start adding, fluid, non binary, pan sexual, cat, dog, then it would be funny.

It's not a stupid ritual. A pregnant woman, or a woman who has recently given birth, is at increased risk of developing anemia if she donates blood. Obviously the status of the potential donor regarding this question needs to be established. So you can either (A) infer the answer from surrounding data and hope you get it right, or (B) Ask a simple, direct question that 99% of your donors will calmly answer without giving it a second thought.
If you choose option B, you'll lose a few pints of potential donations when offended mouth-breathers storm out in a huff. If you choose A, you'll possibly save a few lives and prevent some miscarriages. But by all means, stick to your principles.

Apparently many of you are unaware that men can not get pregnant.
It’s a pretty simple concept that has recently been muddled by extremists.
This is a super basic concept. If you mark yourself as male you are not pregnant. Some people refuse to participate in the dumbing down of society.
How/why is reality controversial all of a sudden?

There's some logic behind TSA searches after 911. Even with the masks, though they're technically useless, there's still some logic behind the use of them. Specially early on when the public didn't know anything. It's something that society as a whole could go one way or the other. Because again, there's a legit connection. Weapons on plane, 911. Sick people coughing, mask could possibly be a filter. It's all in the same family. Even if I think the masks are useless, I don't mind wearing them because I could see how your average person might think they might work.
Now we have a very tiny, minuscule subgroup of people who are mentally ill and think like this https://mobile.twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1540473889737781248 and politicians taking advantage of them. ...I don't know. If you don't understand how ridiculous it is, then never mind. I'm just not playing that stupid game.

There's always some logic to anything. I don't see how filling a form like this is a big deal or even a small deal at all.
Teaching kids about gender dysphoria, yes that's a big deal. But ticking boxes about pregnancy in generic form? Cmon now. :lol

It’s only “inclusive” to the small percentage of crazies who think boys can be girls and vice versa.
It’s extremely exclusive to the vast majority of rational, sane, mentally stable men and women

They're not asking a dude pushing 70. If it was a personal interview, then yes the interviewer would probably skip the question because the answer is obvious. But the guy is filling out a form. The person taking that form and inputting that data into the computer system has no idea who the actual person is, besides the numbers and letters and check-boxes on the form. It's dangerous to infer answers from incomplete data, especially in health issues. Much better to ask a direct question and get a clear answer. Maybe the right-wing, triggered snowflakes will refuse to answer because they're offended, but that's only a few pints of blood.
