It worked for LeBron because Kyrie was younger and hadn't mastered his understanding of the universe yet. Now that he's mastered it, he knows everything better than everybody and is thus doomed to be whatever he is now until the end of days. Or until his next injury (shouldn't take long really), and then he'll gradually start to get worse.
