Looking back at some PFs and Cs that often get overlooked or forgotten despite being guys that put up some nice numbers on certain teams but then tapered off due to situation, etc. Some were great scorers, others good on both ends, and others "appeared" more impactful than others. It is interesting looking back on some of these names, and looking back at their accomplishments in terms of all defensive teams and All-NBA teams. Some have a lot more than you think while others don't...
How would you rank the following as players based on their best:
Elton Brand
Zach Randolph
Jermaine O'Neal
Chris Bosh
LaMarcus Aldridge
Carlos Boozer
Al Jefferson
Shawn Marion
Rasheed Wallace
I've included my rankings below:
Brand
Aldridge
Wallace
Marion
Bosh
Randolph
Boozer
O'Neal
Jefferson

I’m basing these purely on which order I’d want them on my team, not necessarily by who’s “best”
Sheed
Bosh
Marion
Aldridge
O’Neal
Brand
Randolph
Boozer
Jefferson
Admittedly, most of these guys could be ranked in any order, the only thing I’m sure of is the top 3 would definitely be my preference over the rest.

Fair enough. How would you rank them as actual players though? I guess to some extent you did that, but I don't necessarily agree that Sheed is the best player out of the bunch, and I'm sure that neither do you.
Weird to see Brand rated so low considering he was good on both sides of the ball.
Im so nba'd out

Nobody’s life is shit enough to have a detailed idea of all these fringe relevant guys games.
Bosh over Marion is offensive to me though. Good lord.
Sheed and Marion are clearly tiered up. **** the rest.

Shawn Marion was definitely not a center. I'll leave him out to be fair.
Last - Al Jefferson
First - Chris Bosh (the only Hall of Famer here)
2 Jermaine O'Neal
3 Rasheed Wallace
4 LaMarcus Aldridge
5 Zach Randolph
6 Elton Brand
7 Carlos Boozer

Carlos Boozer
Al Jefferson

I agree with Jefferson being last, and get Boozer second, but you really think Bosh and O'Neal were the best players?
I get Bosh has the most rings, but on his own team was barely making playoffs, and if you compare him to someone like Aldridge, he does just about everything better.
Is there a reason everyone ranks Brand so low? I really liked the guys game, and he was good on both ends.
without looking at your ranking OP:
Chris Bosh
Rasheed Wallace
Jermaine O'Neal
Shawn Marion
Zach Randolph
LaMarcus Aldridge
Carlos Boozer
Elton Brand
Al Jefferson
that's who I'd want, in that order.
bosh has the biggest rebound in NBA history capitalizing on a critical error from popovich, pop taking his bigs out to get more perimeter defenders in the game
he played against true centers every night because the heat couldn't afford a center with their godly big-3 - and he never complained. he'd be outweighed by 30 pounds regularly considering he was a true power-forward, sometimes guarding centers that weighed 260-270 pounds, weighing 230 himself.
with his shot-making skills and mobility, he would light up the league right now.

and he kicked it out perfectly to ray allen - in the clutch with his palms sweating - compare that to marcus morris and danny green ruining an epic finals comeback from leGOAT in 2020 with the panic and the scrub instincts :oldlol:

compare that to
people give lebron and ray allen all of the credit - if bosh didnt get that rebound and kick it out perfectly it would be a WRAP on the season
truly an unsung hero.

brand;s prime isnt that impressive. if we're going by one year however yes I'll put him first. He was that good in 06.

Bosh did his bit on the team, but I just don't see him as a better basketball player than the other guys. I remember when the Heat were looking to get a PF, I wanted Amare and Boozer over him. His versatility helped looking back now, but I still think the Heat could have done some great things with another PF there. Where Bosh really did well was when Wade was injured and he was playing that number 2 role. Was impressed with him.
I think Brand is severely underrated. His 2 or 3 year stretch from 04-06 is really high level.

he got caught in the wrong era bro.
played 5 years earlier he'd be finessing smaller power-forwards with a real center on his side
played 5 years later he'd be shitting on smaller bigs that became the norm
he literally paid the price so small ball could be invented. the miami heat invented small ball during a big-mans era, and the warriors took it and ran with it with their so called death line-up.
actually thats not true d'antoni and the suns invented small ball but they got gypped out of a ring so we all forgot
heat were the first team to win rings with that style of not having any real bigs
