Surprised this guy gets such a large platform as an NBA commentator being that he was such a mediocrity as a player.

I remember watching him when he was playing and thinking what a liability he was on BOTH ends of the floor. Offense of course, but on the defensive end, his conditioning was so bad, he was FAR too slow to guard virtually anyone. Heaven forbid he was switched onto a forward or guard.

In theory, a guy with his bulk could be a defensive juggernaut. But the days of post-up were ending anyway (so his prowess there was not used) and teams can't afford an "enforcer" anymore, the league is too competitive these days for that. He couldn't jump and didn't grab many rebounds or effectively contest shots.

Fake news. Now that Perkins is a sports talk show guy, he's required to have 'hot takes' and choose definitive sides where either you love or hate lebron. The truth of the matter is that literally NO ONE in the NBA is a afraid of lebron. No one respects him. Even old ladies and young women heckle lebron without fear to the point lebron literally has to cry to the refs to get fans kicked out. Even scrubs like Mario hezonja and JJ Barea feel comfortable staring down lebron as if he were a scared puppy.
