View Full Version : I happened to overhear a conversation between 2 teenage athletes - softest shit EVER

It was a youth football league and one of the kids said "the other team is whack. Their attitude is horrible - pushing guys down after a tackle..."

No kid in the 80's or 90's ever said "their attitude is horrible"... that's THE softest shit I've ever heard.

This is a good example of the softness of today's human and it explains why today's league is less physical and everyone gets out of everyone's way - they're scared!!!!... :oldlol:

Previous eras were tougher and not afraid of anyone:

^^^ Standard foul - Cartwright gets up and keeps it moving, whereas Lebron would cry and stop being aggressive - so he'd be a 20 ppg facilitator back then

I dont believe that.

That is a horrible attitude and op is an idiot as usual, this time saying that in order to not be soft you need to be unsportsmanlike. The 'problem of today's human' is not softness, its ignorance about basic concepts.

I was gonna say. The funniest part of this is that I seriously doubt that conversation happened.

Kids don't talk like that

It's 100% made up to push a random narrative that came to his head

So you just happened to be watching a group of random kids play a youth football game, and were standing close enough to overhear their conversation this vividly?

Yeah, that's total bullshit :lol And kids/teens do not talk like this, "Their attitude is horrible" lol.

There are a few young guys that play at the court in my neighborhood that get offended if you box out playing 3 on 3

It's a true story

It's funny because I remember back in the day it was the COACHES that would say "you have a bad attitude"... Now it's the players... The kids themselves are scolding each other over bad attitude...

Today era is the "soft as a grape era" where everyone gets out of everyone's way.. And never push anyone to the ground.. that's a big no-no... Everyone gets a trophy.. No losers.. No such thing

That's good. If someone scolded MJ about his ball hogging/selfish ways early in his career maybe he wouldn't have gone 1-9.

Give any 5 year old a basketball and they invariably do the same thing - they start dribbling and pounding the ball..

Similarly, go to any playground in America - you'll see that the playground king will be a ball-dominator.. It's the easiest way to play - a 5-year old can do it

Unfortunately, young ball-handlers like Ingram or Hughes can't develop alongside a massive ball-dominator like Lebron that makes them stand in the corner.. These young ball-handlers need an off-ball star teammate that allows them to handle the ball and use the star as a bailout option.. Otoh, Lebron uses his teammates as bailout options.

Ingram, Kuzma, and Hughes all had a 1-year drop alongside Lebron across the board (PER, BPM, VORP, WS/48).. Otoh, guys like Pippen, Grant and BJ grew by leaps and bounds alongside Jordan's fundamentally-sound game (off-ball).

Jordan grew many single-digit rookies into viable producers (Grant, Pippen, BJ), while Lebron never developed a single young player.. His ball-dominance imposes spot-up roles that stall young players, thereby needing ready-made stars to win.

Ultimately, Luka and Lebron's high school hot-doggin' skillset (ball-dominance) lacks the teammate fits, teammate development or brand of ball to win organically, so they're forced to be talent-based winners (all-star team strategy.. team-hopping). They never actually learned how to win (organic... teammate fits.. chemistry.. brand of ball)...

Essentially, their ball-dominance hogs the assists (low team assists) and hurts ball movement - they're bad at ball movement (aka off-ball play) and therefore have inferior brand of ball that requires more supporting talent.

OP, the nurses at the senior center you’re in are getting very concerned with your obsessive LeBron posting habits.

Now imagine if they read the shit you post on here - where you constantly repeat yourself day after day, along with copy and pasting big walls of text, as well as increasing size of text in debates that you're clearly losing...

At least they're playing sport. You're the keyboard warrior.

I doubt you. But c'mon dude. I'm old too. You're giving us a bad name with this "get off my lawn" take. Pushing a guy down after the play is just being an asshole. There's nothing admirable about that.
