“I know that there are people in the league, and we’re not talking about ancillary people, we’re talking about high-ranking people, who believe that this is not done,” Windhorst said. “I don’t know. Let me just say this about the Lakers. He obviously was very interested in joining the Lakers. The Lakers were very interested in having him.”

i'd laugh if he comes crawling back to ledaddy after failing everywhere he's played since leaving cle.

It's not happening.

if kyrie really wants to play in la and they can only offer him 6 million this was the obvious play. opt in, then force a trade. i suggested this in another topic the day it happened.

it's definitely an option if Kyrie pushes the notion - no doubt about that.

however, I would still rather see a Westbrook + pick for Dame trade - it just fits better for both teams. Dame comes to Cali, Lakers have a duo in AD and Dame for a few years as Lebron sunsets. Blazers get Westbrooks expirer and a future pick, avoiding a delayed rebuild for their own future.

i like lillard but he's got that core injury he can't seem to recover from. if this type of deal happens (westbrook for anyone) it'll probably be midseason when his expiring contract becomes more appealing to a team that isn't on the hook for his full salary.

You are not getting good players for Westbrook. Kyrie was the only possibility just cuz he’s so cancerous it cancels his being a good player out but that didn’t happen so…

Three superstars isn't enough. Bronies are just PRAYING for a fourth.

superstar term is used very loosely...there's only a handful in the league. even the MVP and runner up arent superstars

Lebron
Curry
Giannis
KD

the only fear, from a Blazers perspective, is more false hope that Dame can lead them anywhere with a hot start/streak, and eventually unable to make the move come deadline as it'll just look overly bad on mgmt - we know Dame is very well capable of doing this as the season goes, and implode come playoffs. he's dedicated, hard to turn on that, but there's really no sense holding each other back at the downside of his career

With the Brooklyn Nets about to blow up their roster in the wake of Kevin Durant’s trade demand Thursday, Kyrie Irving appears on his way out the door, too. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reported on air Thursday that Irving wants to re-join LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers “as soon as he possibly can.” “He’s been telling people he wants to be in L.A., he’s been telling people he wants to wear the same uniform that Kobe Bryant once wore,” Smith said.
