Wilt Chamberlain
Bill Russell
Kareem Abdul Jabaar
Shaquille Oneal
Hakeem Olajuwon
Moses Malone
David Robinson
George Mikan
Bill Walton
Robert Parish
Willis Reed
Patrick Ewing
Dikembe Mutombo
Nikolai Jokic
Joel Embiid
Does he crack the top 15 with the 10 years he played center with 2 rings, no fmvp?
I'm treating this as if Duncan was a center his entire career and not just the seasons he was listed as a center. With that criterion in mind, the only centers that a reasonable case could be made that they are ranked higher than him are Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, and possibly Hakeem. So he is, at worst, IMO, the sixth best center, at best, maybe the fourth.

A way to think about this is, lets say you already have Karl Malone in your team. Who would you take over Duncan among all those centers?

Any of them would form a formidable frontline.
Depends who the perimeter players are.

2) Hakeem
3) D-Robinson
4) Wilt
5) Duncan
6) Russell
7) Kareem
8) Moses
9) Ewing
10) Jokic / Embiid

I don't really rank Duncan as a center...for me the top twenty...
1. Wilt
2. KAJ
3. BIll
4. Mikan (7 championships, founded the NBA)
5. M. Malone (3 time MVP great scorer and rebounder)
6. Hakeem (best 2 way center of all-time)
7. Shaq
8. Robinson
9. N. Thurmond (absurdly underrated)
10. Nikolai Jokic (more well-rounded)
11. Ewing
12. Reed
13. Walton (one of the best peaks in NBA history)
14. McAdoo
15. Embiid
16. Unseld
17. Hayes
18. Gilmore
19. Daniels
20. Cowens

Russell and Kareem I got ahead of him for sure. Wilt, Shaq and Hakeem are debatable although I have him below Wilt but over the other two.
And yes Timmy is basically a C who played PF for a chunk of his career.

This is what makes Duncan so valuable. Not only is he the GOAT PF, he is a GOAT tier C too. He wasn't your run of the mill PF like 6'9", 250 lbs either but was a legit 7 footer. If we are talking how many C I would take over him, only a few: Wilt, KAJ, Hakeem, Shaq. That's it. Not Russell, DRob, Moses, etc. Russell had limited O. So did DRob in the half court and Moses wasn't wasn't a rim protector.

I don't think Duncan was a legit 7 footer.
I believe he was 6'10 without shoes, 6'11 with.
But he had long arms.

He played C with Horry, Bonner, Diaw, Malik Rose, Drew Gooden, McDyess but PF with DRob, Nazr Mohammed, Rasho, Blair, Splitter, Oberto, Kurt Thomas, Kevin Willis, Will Purdue, Elson, Mahinmi, Baynes - double duty and versatile.

It's hard for me to rank TD as anything other than a PF but when stacked up with the all time greats I feel he's right there. His resume speaks for itself along with almost two decades of straight title contention. That is ridiculous when you think about it.
