Lucky the stiff arm didn't take off...though in fairness, no one else is allowed to do it

The 3point explosion was already happening independently of Curry, and while he definitely exacerbated the trend, he’s so much better than shooting than anyone else he cannot truly be imitated. There’s been many influential players over the years who you can argue for this subject. Magic and Bird helped popularize the game on a level never seen before. Dr. J was a huge influence on many subsequent players including Jordan. .Shaq literally made them reinforce the rims and forced every team to sign 7 foot stiffs so they extra fouls to give. LeBron has been huge in changing things for player empowerment as well, and you could say he helped normalize the drive and kick to 3pt shooters offense and a non PG being the lead ball handler as well. You’re also forgetting people like George Mikan and Bob Cousy. Kevin Durant had also been very impactful in showing that 6’10+ guys can be iso scorers. Of course, Dirk revolutionized the game by being a 7 footer who was an elite outside shooter. Kevin Garnett is another guy who redefined the way a big man could play.
