View Full Version : In 10-15 years, we'll start to see the true impact of Steph Curry

Kids who were born after Steph's arrival and revolutionary impact on basketball. So, kids born post-2015/2016; imagine how good they'll be at shooting? They've spent their entire lives jacking up 30fters like Curry.

As great as Curry is, there'll probably be guys who'll challenge him for GOAT shooter in the next 20-30 years.

What do you think?

My reasoning/theory for this is that young children are malleable; their brains are more plastic compared to adults. They're better able to learn and master specific skills. Shooting like Curry from day one, I think, will make a difference.

Windows of heightened plasticity during brain development are called critical or sensitive periods (Figure 1). A critical period is the time when environmental input is required for the proper development of a particular brain circuit. If the circuit is left unstimulated, the brain function served by that circuit will be permanently compromised.

Until recently, there were no interventions that could reverse this outcome. A sensitive period, less stringent than a critical period, is the time when environmental experiences have the greatest impact on brain circuitry. The circuits in question can also be shaped by experiences later in life, but to a lesser degree.

As indicated in Figure 1, there are different critical or sensitive periods for different brain circuits and the various functions that they underlie.

What makes LeBron, well, LeBron, is something natural. You can't teach that combination of size and athleticism. Environmental factors can influence physical growth, but not to THAT extent.

Did you know that certain American Indian tribes were, at one point, the tallest humans on Earth? They were also incredibly strong; here's some data from the 18th century:

The Indians were far and away the strongest breed of man!

They ate a protein-rich diet; the Plains Indians would hunt the bison on the prairie. By the late 19th century, the animal was nearly extinct, and the height of the Natives suffered because of it.

LeBron's special. HE'S HIM!

Once a super athletic big man 7’2 or taller can move without the ball and shoot like Curry, handle and bully like Giannis while also being a rim protector and switchable on the perimeter it’s game over.

Currys cowardice rendered him one dimensional and unable to develop other skills. One trick pony who needed all time great supporting casts to win

Pencil necked geek shot only 3s and developed no other skills... that's so sad

A guy who shoots 52% on 2s is just a one dimensional 3 pt shooter.
