Dude is unreal.

Only problems is that he is too tall...super tall people don't last in the NBA. He's gonna dominate and be in the talks for the best in the NBA for a while but will not have a very long career as a top flight elite player.

Skinny 7-footers are best suited for shot-blocking and spot-up shooting in today's game..

The neat spacing and organized format reduces the randomness and variety of movement compared to previous eras, so there are less ways a 7-footer can dominate - it's basically pick-n-pop or spot-up, unless they have some girth like Embiid/Jokic (iso).

That's why Chet doesn't have it - it's because there's no such thing as a 7-foot ball-handler because KD isn't really 7-feet... It took a while for a 6'10 KD to come along so I don't think the 7-foot version is coming along immediately

He was absolutely better than Porzingis and NBA Sabonis. lol. Sampson's a tough one to compare. Being even more injury riddled than Yao. He had even less opportunity to put it all together.

take Sabonis anyday. Yao could shoot. Nothing else he did better than Sabonis ever. Defensively Porzingis is a lot more mobile and has the 3 point range(Hard to imagine Yao not drilling 3's if he wanted though). Yao was good if he didn't have to move much like against Shaq. Yao made a lot of all star games because he had a billion Chinese votes and received a lot of hype but he was very limited besides being able to shoot. Sampson's rookie year was better than anything Yao ever did. He wasn't as good once he moved to PF
