This article by the UN, reminds me of how a few posters here on ISH think.

Some of you still defending Biden

Some of you still defending the Far Left

Some you folks saying inflation is good, and that the National Debt doesn't matter.

So... can you twist the narrative of World Hunger and spin it into a positive?

THe U.N. tried to, and then came to their senses and took the article down

The Benefits of World Hunger

We sometimes talk about hunger in the world as if it were a scourge that all of us want to see abolished, viewing it as comparable with the plague or aids. But that naïve view prevents us from coming to grips with what causes and sustains hunger. Hunger has great positive value to many people. Indeed, it is fundamental to the working of the world's economy. Hungry people are the most productive people, especially where there is a need for manual labour.

We in developed countries sometimes see poor people by the roadside holding up signs saying "Will Work for Food". Actually, most people work for food. It is mainly because people need food to survive that they work so hard either in producing food for themselves in subsistence-level production, or by selling their services to others in exchange for money. How many of us would sell our services if it were not for the threat of hunger?

More importantly, how many of us would sell our services so cheaply if it were not for the threat of hunger? When we sell our services cheaply, we enrich others, those who own the factories, the machines and the lands, and ultimately own the people who work for them. For those who depend on the availability of cheap labour, hunger is the foundation of their wealth.

The conventional thinking is that hunger is caused by low-paying jobs. For example, an article reports on "Brazil's ethanol slaves: 200,000 migrant sugar cutters who prop up renewable energy boom".1 While it is true that hunger is caused by low-paying jobs, we need to understand that hunger at the same time causes low-paying jobs to be created. Who would have established massive biofuel production operations in Brazil if they did not know there were thousands of hungry people desperate enough to take the awful jobs they would offer? Who would build any sort of factory if they did not know that many people would be available to take the jobs at low-pay rates?

Much of the hunger literature talks about how it is important to assure that people are well fed so that they can be more productive. That is nonsense. No one works harder than hungry people. Yes, people who are well nourished have greater capacity for productive physical activity, but well-nourished people are far less willing to do that work.

The non-governmental organization Free the Slaves defines slaves as people who are not allowed to walk away from their jobs. It estimates that there are about 27 million slaves in the world,2 including those who are literally locked into workrooms and held as bonded labourers in South Asia. However, they do not include people who might be described as slaves to hunger, that is, those who are free to walk away from their jobs but have nothing better to go to. Maybe most people who work are slaves to hunger?

For those of us at the high end of the social ladder, ending hunger globally would be a disaster. If there were no hunger in the world, who would plow the fields? Who would harvest our vegetables? Who would work in the rendering plants? Who would clean our toilets? We would have to produce our own food and clean our own toilets. No wonder people at the high end are not rushing to solve the hunger problem. For many of us, hunger is not a problem, but an asset.

In a response to a tweet criticizing the publication for its inclusion of the article on its website, UN Chronicle confirmed that the 14-year-old article was “an attempt at satire.”

Old article is satire. Next time do your due diligence Doomsy.

Also I'm not sure what an old UN article has to with Biden or the far left. :facepalm

"Biden bad. Left leaning people bad. Now here is an old article about world hunger". :oldlol:

It did remind me of many of the usual suspects. They will twist anything for their side, including pay $9 a gallon to punish Putin in the name of Joe Biden.

The question is why would the UN publish such a satirical article?

Here's the original article (https://web.archive.org/web/20211128214718/https://www.un.org/en/chronicle/article/benefits-world-hunger). Nothing about the presentation, particularly being part of UN.org would lead one to believe that it was satire. Could it be that after the backlash that was the excuse?

It doesn't matter what fact checking you do or where the article came from... My point remains.

People (ESPECIALLY THOSE ON THE LEFT) will spin anything into a positive... somehow the democrats have put a spin on socialism. Bigger the Government the Better.

I asked for one thing to be optimistic about, and your answer was 10% of the country are millionaires... Ok? What happened to the middle class? Do they suddenly not matter?

Is there really anything for regular middle-class folks to be optimistic about? The answer is nothing.

Same deal with Covid... You guys twisted the truth so hard just so it would fit the official narrative, to the point where you got on board with big-tech censorship.

https://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread1314719/pg1

*Future Disclaimer For All Covid Threads That Challenge The Narrative

First of all, before we go any further, let's make it clear that EVER SINGLE whistle blower is going to be demonized and discredited by social media, big tech and the mainstream media. So no matter who it is, or how many published studies or degrees they have, or what university they teach at, it doesn't matter. Big pharma pays good money to make sure anyone who questions the narrative is completely silenced and ridiculed. In fact they spend billions of dollars every year to accomplish this, along with protecting their narrative in every way possible. The trusted news initiative, funded by big pharma is completely designed to silence all dissent as eloquently discussed here by Dr. Robert Malone. This also includes the corporate capture of the CDC, FDA, NHS, politicians, etc.

So if you can't think outside the box, then don't even comment that you googled someone and it said that this person or any person is some discredited doctor or scientist.

WE KNOW.

That's the game they are playing. The did it to the most published cardiologist in the world and every single doctor or scientist who has spoken out, and they can do it to anyone. They did it to Joe Rogan for explaining the Covid protocol he used that got him back to doing intense exercise within a few days, and it was prescribed by his doctor, it worked. They did it to one of the co-creators of the mRNA platform, Dr. Malone. They did it to front line doctors who literally came up with the protocols with repurposed drugs that saved people in the beginning of the pandemic and not the remdesivir/vent garbage that killed 90% of the people that got put on it.

Do you really think whistle blowers are protected by the government? What happened to Julian Assange again? Does everyone remember what he did and the lasting impact it had? No? Wait, what? He's in prison probably for life, and the people who committed the crimes are living on an island somewhere.

Now, if you wish to leave your little box, and you don't believe this or any of the doctors or scientists who have spoken out, then the first question you can answer for yourself is: WHY? Why do they all throw their careers away to speak out? What do they have to gain VERSUS what does big pharma have to gain?

Thank you.

That was the main point I was making.

It didn't come off as satire to me because of the comments I've read in the past.

people on the left will spin anything as being beneficial.
