View Full Version : Respectfully, you cant go 1-6 on FMVP and be considered top 10

Listen, I totally get the arguments. “This is the Modern Competitive Era, FMVPs count a lot more than they did in MJ’s era bc teams are much harder to beat!”
And that is absolutely 100% true. It does count for more. It does.
But 1-6... simply doesnt cut the muster. It doesnt.
So Congrats to Steph on winning an adult award finally, but lets keep it in context. He does not belong on the hallowed grounds of top 10 all time. 1-6 is not enough. The honor would be given, not earned. And that is unacceptable.

Elite college basketball programs passed on him so he ended up on Davidson. I guess that proved Steph wasn't a good college player?
Several teams passed on drafting him so he ended up as only the 7th pick. I guess that proves Steph isn't a top NBA player?
FMVP voters kept choosing other players as FMVP. I guess that proves Steph isn't among the greatest NBA legends?
People can keep making idiotic assessments, doesn't mean Steph won't blast through their limited expectations and make a mockery of their decisions.

Ummm 40% win rate in the Modern Competitive Era while withstanding organizational failures (07), teammate sabotages (11), illicit air conditioning manipulation (14), injuries (15) and collusion (17,18)???
Yeah I’ll take that 4-10 all day every day.
It’s the most impressive achievement in athletic history if we’re being honest, and it isnt close.
1-6 is simply not in that conversation.

This year has been a nightmare for LeStans. Lakers couldn't even make the play in after being seen as contenders, then Curry wins a title and Finals MVP. The only way they can cope with their depression is to make troll threads. So sad.

Curry also won the All star MVP that was held in Akron. Now that's tough.

fmvp just kind of solidifies a players role on a championship team in these all time arguments. in this case curry was the clear first option/best player in 15 and 22. 17/18 are very debatable.
he's top 10 though and as a legoat fan you should embrace that. now we need kd in that top 10 too.

Or 100% >>> 40% > 17% for differential of 60 compared to 23 if one wants to use this FMVP/Finals ratio.

Low IQ especially the poster above you. Saying Curry sucks just cheapens Lebron's Cavs ring, and makes the losses against Curry look even worse.

They should want the Warriors to be considered the best teams of all time, and they are
Currys ranking is irrelevant to the comp argument

no it isn't. we want as many of lebron's competition in the top 10/20 all time as possible.

Jordan lacked star comp AND team comp... team comp being by far the most important
2014 Spurs > 2012 Thunder despite Thunder having "higher ranked" guys
Team greatness is what matters

Actually his calculations showed that Shaq averaged 27.1 ppg in the 90s which was 1.5 higher than the 00s.
Not surprised you missed the point.

Yeah it made a .24 difference so Shaq averaged only 1.5 ppg more on the 90s. That .24 is the only W you can claim for the last few months.

You were the nerd fuming over the .2 difference which is why you tried to do manual calculations to say he averaged 25.3 instead of 25.6 which rounds to 26
You're a nerd AND a fukking moron
Horrible combo

Of course Shaq still averaged 1.5 more in the 90s according to his link even though he was claiming it was only 1 point, so I got him to concede an extra .5.
Even though my method was off I still end up being right.

Maybe in tennis you can't.
In a team sport, you winning 4 finals out of 10 when your team was favored to win 3 out of 10 equals GOAThood.
