Relegation will never happen but ****…I’d love to see some rich guy buy a G league team in like…Austin…and fill it with international stars and high school to pro prospects and grow it into a team that wins the G league and replaces the Kings in the nba for a season. Make these shit teams worry.

And some fans want to expand the league? There's already too many teams that are on a similar level to the Kings, obv not as pathetic, but still regularly mediocre-bad. Adding two more teams will only exacerbate the issue of teams being consistently irrelevant.

Its also the only way to avoid handing out 5 year 375 million dollar contracts to guys who get hurt before the extension even kicks in. The nba doesn’t have enough players to break up nfl level revenue and they almost caught up (10 billion to 11 and change). What will be the owners argument to cut the players percentage of revenue when they use the same infrastructure to make double the money?

Expansion is 166 million straight cash to every existing owner just off the fees to add 2 teams. I think they’ll add 4 and try to limit their exposure to giant bad contracts.

That would be cold, demoted to the G-league for having the worst record and having to win the G -League title to get a play in to be reinstated.

By the 1986 playoff-making criteria standards, the Kings would've made the playoffs 8 times since the last time they made the playoffs in 2006.
Let that sink in.

It doesn't matter how many teams are in the league someone will always be bad. Everyone is picking from the same talent pool the Kings are just consistently bad at picking the right players and coach. If there were less teams in the league they would still be bad at it.

More like being top 11-12 in your conference out of 15 teams, which is the equivalent of being top 8 out of 11 teams the conference consisted of in 1986.

Relegation would be amazing.

Right now some owners just don't care at all if their teams are good or bad, cuz they will still make their cut of the pie.

I can imagine how differently teams like Kings or Knicks would behave if becoming a G-league team could be a real possibility.
