Derozan is only a year younger. Nets would want Derozan, Lavine (probably can't be traded but they would want him anyway), Ball and 5 picks. Chicago isn't going to destroy their team to trade for a player that will be wanting out immediately.

The thing is, if Brooklyn wants to rebuild, they likely need to find at least a three team trade. No team with young players, picks, and cap space is gonna trade for Durant because they're not ready to win now anyway.

The only teams trading for Durant are currently competing teams. And theyre mainly gonna have robins and role players on offer.

If Brooklyn wants to be a 7-8 seed type team for the next few years, they could swing a deal for a Robin and some role players. If they want to use a KD trade to rebuild, they'll likely need a mix of teams involved to find something make sense for everyone.

Realistically, theyre probably just gonna keep him.

Chicago doesn't have the assets for Durant..they could get Simmons which would open up a bunch of players that can't be traded (Booker, Adebayo, Mitchell, Towns, Murray, MPJ, Wiggins, Fox, SGA, Young, Tatum, Embiid)

I think the best Brooklyn can do is trade Simmons, Kyrie, Durant and end up with

PF - Lavine
SF - Westbrook
C - Adebayo

What makes no sense is you thinking the Nets wouldn't demand their entire team. You point out that Derozan had a bad postseason. I won't even double check that it's believable. So he would be almost the same age, not a superstar and not a good playoff performer. Why on earth do the Nets accept him for Durant? Nets allegedly turned down Jaylen Brown who is 25 plus whatever extra players and picks. Detozan is not going to be nearly enough. Lavine wouldn't even be enough. The Bills would have to offer everyone and be left with a team Durant wouldn't get anywhere. He would be demanding a trade immediately.
