they want westbrook as a screen man on offense and defender lol that's his role if he's still on the roster in october.

It obviously makes the most sense from a competitive standpoint. Honestly it's really shocking that the Lakers ever brought in Westbrook the way they did, without Lebron's knowledge or approval. He's not only a garbage player in general now, but he's the absolute worst possible fit with Lebron. It was a clearly terrible idea from the very beginning. Just shocking incompetence really.

They would improve massively just by the sheer act of sitting or buying out Westbrook entirely and removing him from the roster without any compensation. Get him tf out of Lebron's WAY.

I want Lebron to have the ball all the time as well. Since Lecuck will lead the Lakers to another Lottery with his style

The Lakers biggest challenge is going to be navigating an 82 game season that keeps Bron and AD fresh and available for the postseason. Westbrook needs to be a key part of that. Without question he has to play better than he did last season. I'm willing to give him a pass because he just looked like a broken man. The guy was on the bench trying to get at hecklers because they were getting into his head.

It's foolish for the Lakers to expect Bron to hold up for 82 games and 4 rounds of playoffs averaging 37minutes a night heading into his age 38 season. The only sign of decline Bron has shown since coming to LA is he isn't as durable as I took for granted over his first 15 season in the league.

Yeah, it's always good to have one guy get 13 assists while the team gets 16 total - no team in the league will have a better brand of ball than a low-assist team like that.

Imagine if you told Popovich in 1999: "hey Popovich, you can't run your wonderful ball movement system - you have to let Duncan dominate the ball on every play (let's assume that Duncan had the handle).. Popovich would seek the nearest ledge - it would be a nightmare for him to run a "big man ball-dominance" offense (the worst kind of ball-dominance)

Ham is completely f*cked if this is his understanding of the game.. He'll be a ham alright and we'll all be "hamming" it up at his expense

He benefits from playing off-ball, but LA suffers if that other guy that has the ball is Russell Westbrook. A Derrick Fisher-type is what they need. Someone dependable to play the point.

Get him tf out of Lebron's WAY.

the full quote.

"I don't really know what sacrifice means for LeBron James on this Lakers team because if it means giving the ball up to other people, I'm not sure that's a good idea. I kind of want LeBron to have the ball basically all the time, every possession, run the show."

That is not a quote from Darvin Ham. That is a quote from Zach Lowe. In the clip you can watch Lowe saying it and he's not quoting Ham, it's his own opinion.

Here is Ham's quote about sacrifice from that clip (from All The Smoke):

"Again we talk about sacrifice, and the first thing people talk about is sacrificing scoring output or shots or something like that. No, sacrifice is making selfless plays. If you don't have the ball pushing it in the break, are you willing to sprint to your spot and open up a lane for your teammate. Are you willing to sprint and open up an open shot for your teammate. Are you willing to box out even though you're not going to get that damn rebound. But you're putting a body on a body so your man can come in a scoop it up so we can get going with our pace. So that's the thing I'm thinking about."

Then they cut to the ESPN talking heads and we see Zach Lowe say:

"I don't really know what sacrifice means for LeBron James on this Lakers team because if it means giving the ball up to other people, I'm not sure that's a good idea. I kind of want LeBron to have the ball basically all the time, every possession, run the show."

So Ham never said that he wanted LeBron to have the ball all the time.
