This is what would drive me crazy about Wilt. He has a game like this, then in Game 7 of the ECF he scores 14 points and doesn't take a single shot in the 2nd half.

He averaged 28 ppg and 28 rpg on Russell and 34 ppg and 24 rpg on everyone else. No one ever did that to Joakim Noah.

I believe wilt holds a slight edge. He set the nba record for most rebounds in a single game (55) vs the Celtics

I know that record of 55 rebounds is the highest ever since. But i bet both Wilt and Bill rebounded pretty equally when facing each other. Let's see if somone has that data. Greetings

When Wilt and Russell played H2H in 8 PO series.
Who led in each category:
PTS: 8-0 Wilt
REB: 8-0 Wilt
AST: 6-2 Russell
TS%: 8-0 Wilt
As for their Teammates:
PTS: 8-0 Russell's teammates
REB: 7-1 Russell's
AST: 5-3 Russell's
TS%: 5-3 Russell's
Therefore we see with the data that Wilt bested Russ in 26 of 32 (81%) categories over 8 PO series.
And that Russell's 11 teammates bested Wilt's 11 teammates in 25 of 32 (78%)categories over 8 PO series

How significant are Wilt's stat lines, really? The 60s was an incredibly fast paced era (fastest in league history if I'm not mistaken) and guys like Wilt played 48 MPG.
'60-'73 PER 36: 23.6 PPG on 54%
'60-'71 PER 36: 25.7 PPG on 53%
'60-'66 PER 36: 30.3 PPG on 51%
Looking at his peak years, he puts up 30 PPG on 51% PER 36. MJ put up slightly higher totals and efficiency during '87-'93, and he was a SG playing post NBA/ABA merger. Shaq from '94-'03 recorded 27 PPG on 58% for his PER 36 numbers. I honestly don't think Wilt would have outdone Shaq playing in the same era, but I could be wrong.
Wilt wouldn't have been playing 48 minutes a game in the 80s, 90s, 00s, or 10s. If he's facing better big men in the paint and dealing with a much slower pace, then I think it's safe to say his totals and averages crater.
He would still be an incredible player, but nothing like the unreal stats we've seen. Something like 25/13/4/3 on 50% is likely IMO.

This is true but still impressive he played that many minutes.
Russell was still a better playmaker than him during their years but damn. That penta-double is surely unmatched.

The blocks and steals weren't official stats so they could be exaggerated. 53/32/14 is insane enough though! :lol

Yea. Intuition tells me he'd probably be like Shaq but an even greater defensive force.
