. EuroLeague guard Mike James, who has had stints in the NBA with the Suns, Pelicans and Kevin Durant-led Nets, is one outspoken critic of Curry.

Over the weekend, James joined the “Players Choice” (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mike-james-on-setting-a-college-record-the-nba/id1568579417?i=1000573215176) podcast and shared a list of his current top five players in the NBA. The hosts noticed Curry was missing.

“Steph, how he plays and how he gets stuff off, it’s just kinda one-dimensional at times,” James said. “He’s not the primary ball-handler a lot, and for a point guard that kinda bothers me.”
James had Durant, LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic in his list, but felt they are all capable of something that the reigning Finals MVP is not.

“I think those other five can do whatever they want to do on any team in the world right now,” Mike James said. “I just don’t know about that for Steph. It’s a little murky for Steph… If you put him in Minnesota, he would still kill, but I don’t know if it would be the same.”


Man doesn’t like his point guards mostly scoring. I suspect you feel otherwise. Personally I feel that anything effective is the right way to go. If it works I don’t care how you go about it.

I don't acknowledge this player you speak of. If a guy's just there for a paycheck, that's one thing; but if he considers his thoughts about the game to be worth broadcasting, he has to know that Mike James played for the Rockets and Raptors, and that this fellow's name needs to be Michael B. James a la Michael B. Jordan or something, because for NBA fans who think, the past is present, and I average more than one conversation about the real Mike James per year, and this new guy is confusing everyone.

Yes the other/original Mike James was better. This one is all euroleague first team but the other was more than solid in the nba….not that I wanted him on my team.

That’s crazy the ‘06 Raptors had two 20 ppg scorers who played 70 games a piece and only won 27 games. I’m sure it’s happened on other occasions, but it has to be pretty rare right?

That’s crazy the ‘06 Raptors had two 20 ppg scorers who played 70 games a piece and only won 27 games. I’m sure it’s happened on other occasions, but it has to be pretty rare right?
The Kings had 3 20+ PPG scorers in Cousins, Isaiah Thomas and Rudy Gay one year and were still shit iirc
