Hey Yo
08-07-2022, 11:15 AM
2020??

Lakers played 71 regular season games and had the best record in the West.

LOL @ calling it an asterisk season.

Disney bubble exhibition games is probably the biggest asterisk.

If a bubble ring was so easy, then why didn't the other team won???? same coditions for every team, every player

any playoffs where lebron's been injured deserves an asterisk considering he's made the finals every year since 2011 when healthy.

2019
2021
2022

pick one.

100% true. Which is why it was the least watched finals in modern times. Nobody cared.

Off subject. Little known fact LBJ made the finals every year since 2011 when he was healthy. Bill Russell won the Finals every year that he was healthy.

Wow......

Bronie logic: It couldn't have been an easy ring or both teams would have one.

Let's ignore the fact that in the game of basketball THERE ARE NO DRAWS.

You can't make this stuff up.

It shouldn't require explanation.

A big chunk of the season cancelled and then scrimmage games at Disney World.

2020 ring is the fairest ring ever won:

-All teams played in the same arenas
-All teams lived in the same climate
-All teams ate the same food
-All teams had the same distance/time of travel
-All teams had the exact same amount of rest time between games

The 2012 ring is the most physically demanding ring ever won:

A normal season has about 2.0-2.1 days of rest between games on average
The 2011-12 season had 1.85 days of rest over 66 regular season games, with 16 required playoffs/finals game wins
The 2020-21 season had 2.0 days of rest over 72 regular season games, with 16 required playoffs/finals game wins
The 1998-99 season had 1.78 days of rest over 50 regular season games, with 15 required playoffs/finals game wins

These are the facts.

The other teams even had the unfair advantage of erasing the Lakers hard-earned, clinched home court advantage, which they obtained before the season was suspended. Yet they still won with LeBron as the Finals MVP. :applause:

Two years later I've legitimately yet to hear a good explanation for why if the bubble was such an easy place to win, why the two other title favorites in the Bucks & Clippers underachieved in such spectacular fashion, with the reigning MVP & FMVP Giannis & Kawhi having subpar series to boot.

TheGoatest
08-08-2022, 11:44 AM
And let us not forget that the Lakers were the only team who had a healthy player refuse to play in the bubble. That was Avery Bradley, who aside from LeBron or Anthony Davis was arguably better than any Laker in the 2019-20 season before it was put on ice. LeBron still prevailed and won the ring/finals MVP. :applause:

Every other fan base wanted to win that championship.

There isn't a reason. Boils down to butt hurt haters mad that their own team didn't win.

All the players of their teams tried their hardest. All had equal playing field.

This.
If anything, I'd say that the players in the bubble tried even harder than usual.
Remember: At the time, nobody was sure whether the entire 2020-21 season would be cancelled due to Covid. So for all the players knew, the bubble ring would be the only ring they could win in 2 years.

F*** outta here. Not only was it played in an empty arena, there was covid protocols where if anyone had a mild cold or even around unauthorized people they were ruled out for 2 weeks.
Lakers never even played a good team in any series since they avoided the Clippers and the Bucks.

Lakers lost home court advantage and their starting point guard due to covid.

How was that an advantage for the Lakers?
