View Full Version : Richard Hamilton averaged 20.0 ppg in 2001-02 and 17.6 ppg in 2003-04, yet...

...he missed the playoffs in 2002, whereas he won the championship in 2004.

How is it possible to miss the playoffs with a 20.0 ppg averaging Richard Hamilton, when a 17.6 ppg averaging Richard Hamilton is capable of winning a championship as the leading scorer in the finals of the finals winning team?

was on a bad team when he averaged 20. On one of the best teams when he averaged 17. Are you really that stupid?

GMJ forced the team to draft K'wame Braun. And followed it up by stacking the deck with the Dream Teamer who beat out Shaq for a spot on the...Dream Team. All in an attempt to win now. Ended up completely missing the playoffs and the franchise has still not recovered from his reign of terror!

Sidenote: The #1 seed in the east in the 2001-02 season, where the superior, 20.0 ppg averaging version of Hamilton missed the playoffs had 52 wins. That is the second lowest number of wins for a #1 seed in the 3 point era, only surpassed by the 2002-03 #1 seed who had 50 wins, and where the Wizards missed the playoffs yet again.

Yes, that's how pathetic the eastern conference was in those two particular seasons (2001-02 and 2002-03).

The only thing hilarious about this picture is that they put jordon in the middle of the Wizards, implying he was the leader instead of the player who led the team in scoring AND assists: Jerry Stackhouse

The 2022 Western Conference teams were so dominant that they averaged 1.4 and 2.6 more wins than the all-time bad 2002 and 2003 Eastern Conference teams.

So let's not act like super star All-NBA Lebron had to go through a gauntlet to win less games than washed up Wizards jordon who also had the weaker supporting cast to boot.
