That floating high arc one over MJs high leaping contest at 45 seconds is kinda ridiculous.

I loved that guy. One of those old school guys who plays his game his way and nobody plays anything like him. Before AAU, YouTube tutorials, and everyone doing the same thing because they watch the same players made everyone so similar. Guys just built their game on local playgrounds and playing around by themselves so nobody beat them into submission and made them work on the same things. I think I want another finger roll specialist more than a sky hook one.

I was at a hotel recently with a room overlooking a little fenced in half basketball court at the back of the parking lot where some kids from the hotel were out shooting around.

They were just random kids and they were all casually doing dirk one-legs, curry pull-ups, harden step backs, kyrie crossovers. I remember thinking exactly what you just said, how any kid today can incorporate every pro player's patented move into their own game, given how easily they can watch it over and over on the internet. Every skill or move quickly becomes universal.

There is always value to be found in zigging where others zag.

Who do you think uses the finger roll the most today? KD has a really nice one.

Exactly. And for the record I’m not even saying it’s bad from a skill building perspective. The kids should absorb everything they can. Every one of us has hit a dream shake or Jordan fade or whatever. Great. Not a criticism of the young players at all.

Im talking strictly as far as enjoying really unique players. The unique guys these days tend to be internationals.

In trying to remember who is the last guy I’ve seen do it twice in one game.

I feel he is kinda overlooked when people mention great scorers

He is. I hesitate to call him a natural because of all the work he had to put in to be so insane with his soft touch but…some people just have it.
