2022 - Stephen Curry
2021 - Giannis Antetokounmpo
2020 - Lebron James
2019 - Kawhi Leonard
2018 - Lebron James
2017 - Lebron James and Kevin Durant
2016 - Lebron James
2015 - VOTING NOW
Skipped 2016 because it's super obvious. I called 2017 a tie for now.
I'll go with Curry for this year.

Even with his horribly inefficient shooting, LeBron gets the nod here.

You’re the one crying because LeBron keeps winning :oldlol:
You’re probably gonna quit the whole project altogether if he wins this year

2015 goes to Bron.
The fact that he got 3 or 4 whatever fmvp votes proves this.
No kyrie in finals. No love in playoffs. Just a 1 man wrecking crew.

So bron is playoff mvp for:
2020
2018
2017
2016
2015
2013
2012
That's 7. That's probably the record, don't see anyone else unless you count the 60s.

I think Jordan will get to 8. He's obviously winning for his 6 titles, and I'd be very surprised if someone else wins in '89 or '90.

89 and 90 has to go to IT, IT defeated Jordan and won championships in both those years.
Jordan has 6 playoff mvps.

Can't be a playoff mvp if you dont make finals.

It's Lebron James. With that being said, the 2015 playoffs were pretty "weak" relative to normal standards. Warriors were a first time team in the finals and the Cavs were without K Love and Kyrie.
Even Lebron and Curry had "weak" runs relative to many other playoffs runs in their careers.

That's funny since my vote itself was a tie for 2017 and I'm keeping it that way. Don't get me wrong, the 2017 playoff run for Lebron is the most underrated of his career by a large margin. He was absolutely insane and better than he was in 15/16. I also understand Durant joined an already all-time great team and the 2017 Warriors are the most stacked/talented team of all time...
BUT, when it came down to the biggest stage Kevin Durant was absurdly good. Idc how stacked his team was, there are barely any players in history who could play at Durant's level in the 2017 finals. I don't see Bird putting up 35/8/5 on like 70 TS% against the 2017 version of Lebron James. I don't see Kobe doing that either. We can't forget Lebron still had Kyrie/K.Love plus a ton of shooting to help him out as well.
KD/Lebron in the 17 finals was one of the best duals of all time despite the lopsided-ness of the actual series. KD deserves credit for being able to cancel out the 2nd best player of all time (Lebron) who was playing pretty close to his peak on offense.
You hold the tiebreaking vote for 2017 FYI.

I saw an interesting article in which most of the voters said they would have given the finals MVP to Lebron had he pushed the series to Seven.
Lloyd: If the Cavs had gotten it to a Game 7 and stretched the series as far as it could go (as Jerry West did the year he won it in a losing effort), LeBron would’ve gotten my vote, regardless.
The fact the Cavs lost in six, and three straight to end the series eliminated him from my ballot.

This is pretty disgraceful even for their standards. You are trying to do a project that will bring some legit content to this board and people start telling you not to do it….because they think the player they like won’t get as many votes as they think they should. It’s very sad.

But props to op for trying to bring some new and legitimate discussion to the board.

Draymond played the best. Warriors defense was way more dominant than offense in this run. Best playoff team defensive performance of the era with 08 Celtics and 19 Raptors.
But if you want a vote that goes by the unspoken rule of favoring scoring over the entire game and then LeBron or Curry is suitable.

Same with 1989. Joe Dumars went 27/2/6 in the finals and jordan sat at home.

Nah, Id give 1990 to MJ. Isiah was very underwhelming in the first 3 rounds, only averaged 18 ppg on 43 fg%.
Same for '89. Only competition he has in those years are Magic in '89, but to me MJ was clearly better.
