Dr. Fauci announces he’s stepping down in December. Fauci’s running scared with Republicans taking control of the House, at minimum, next year. Fauci should face criminal charges for lying to congress about gain of function research and covid.

That's fine. There are plenty of infectious disease scientists out there at NIH so one of them will take over. What's the issue? He is up there in age and had over a 50yr career starting with work on HIV/AIDS. He was bound to retire sooner or later.

If Congress goes Republican, they could still make him come back for a hearing. Retired doesn't mean he has escaped the country into hiding.

My brother works for NIH, and he saw Fauci once. He was like a friendly grandpa.
