No matter who wins…we lose.

That said I can see how it sucks being a role player who has the whole league on pause waiting on some star to make a decision. Seeing your team in the talks knowing it could send you 2500 miles away when your kids just started school last week. The little people who take whatever spot they can get are always at the mercy of the stars.

Millions of people out there who’d line up to have this “problem.”

Bev can retire if it’s too stressful on him.

So we as a society are never gonna stop with the “They get paid so I don’t wanna hear about inconvenience” line of thinking?

Being one of the nameless end of roster guys trying to latch on for good at 26 after playing in Peru for wnba money and finding out you have to either pull your kid out of school and move him and your wife to Canada or go without your family? It probably doesn’t feel great just because people working at Dollar Tree would take that spot.

You still get to feel bad at times even when society has valued your skill set more than most.

Im sure people in tin shacks stuck to the side of a hill in India would love to trade their situation for a first world problem like how much gas or new tires costs for my car they will never be able to afford doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to not like it.

If a guy’s gonna cry on Twitter about problems others would love to have... then I think yes, society’s not gonna stop pointing out how oblivious he sounds.

I mean is this really a problem the public needs to hear about? Or is it just an opportunity for Patrick Beverly to make some kind of self aggrandizing hero proclamation to boost himself up on the twitter?

I think we all know the answer.

This is a pretty severe over-dramatization.

Nobody cares about all that shit. We all have our problems. Save your thoughts and prayers for the millions of people starving in the Congo.

Beverly is blatantly trolling. It’s what he does.

If you're trying to be a pro-baller and you're in the Peru league just give it up. If you can't at least make Australia league, do something else with your life, you ain't that dude. We could use about 2 billion less people on the planet anyways (too many dudes trying to do the same shit).

Considering some of the mild inconveniences I’ve seen the conservative side of ISH complain about the last few years this is pretty amusing. Potentially being rich means you can’t be annoyed…..

And I stress the “potentially”. I have more money now than a great deal of the kinds of people who are on the end of rosters trying to make the NBA. I’d like to think he isn’t talking about the kind of people who have made the money he has made. Might make it might not basketball players really aren’t rolling in money. And they make even less with age and few have the ability to do anything else useful.

Most athletes going broke isn’t just because they spend a lot of money. Most pro athletes put a massive portion of their youth into barely making it and then flame out or make it for a couple seasons then need to figure out what to do for 50 years. I’ve personally known four NBA players and only one of them is rich. That’s Kevin Garnett who would obviously skew the average but the others aren’t.

I assume he’s talking about those types not himself. If he means himself it’s obviously a Sprewell type stupid thing to say.

Do we? This is professional sports we're talking about. Not our own lives. And yes, while the public would love to have problems like this, the public also gets behind stuff like what Bev is pointing out within the context of the nba, its favorite soap opera. What the public doesn't want to hear, is more elitist, passive aggressive belly-aching from guys like KD & Kyrie.

Sure rich people can be annoyed. Doesn’t mean people will shed tears over it. If we are being completely honest with thing, no one really cares. It’s a tough world out there.

Just gotta deal with it.

Not to mention Bev doesn’t even sincerely believe that stuff. He’s trolling. It’s Patrick Beverly, it’s what he does.

Is Pat Bev looking for sympathy here? The man can retire at any point and not have to worry about money issues ever again, why should any one of us care?

You all really think he meant himself? He’s made 65 million and has a guaranteed 13 million for this season. I have to believe he’s talking about the hangers on. He’s a 10 year vet with a place no matter what.

I know he’s a jackass at times but even he isn’t so lacking in awareness he’d complain about it hurting him personally is he?

If he is in the same boat as the players waiting for the pieces to fall than yes it would be hard for me not to say he at least referring to himself to a partial degree.

Even if Pat Bev is referring to himself, in the context of his peers which consists of men whose source of income and livelihoods are based on playing professional basketball, I get it. Yes. I know that most of them, including journeymen such as Bev, have probably made more money by age 30 than the average person will ever see in his/ her lifetime. Nobody has to feel sorry for them as though they are destitute or anything. But it's the simple principle that, regardless as to how rich or fortunate you already are you don't like another man's decisions holding you up from making your money. Again, I don't feel sorry for them, but I get it.

So I am supposed to be concerned about a professional bball player making in what some would call a annual salary that equates to a life
time for me and others....

give me a break Spree
