There's many great to excellent players in NBA today, but only LeBron & Curry are comfortably top 10 players ever.

The current status of players in that range in no order

- Tim Duncan
- Shaquille O'Neal
- Bill Russell
- Wilt Chamberlain
- Magic Johnson
- Larry Bird
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
- Michael Jordan
- Steph Curry
- LeBron James

Do you think any current player besides Curry & LeBron ends up as a top-10 player in 2020s?

Curry is definitely not “comfortably” a top 10 player, he’s fringe top 10 like Hakeem & Kobe.

As for current players, they’re very obv choices. Giannis has an actual realistic shot, Luka has the potential to make a run for it, and Jokic has an outside but not likely chance. Nobody else playing today has any realistic path to becoming top 10 as it stands right now, even someone like KD is extremely unlikely.

- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (All-time leader in Scoring, 6 MVP's, 6 Rings)
- Larry Bird (#1 SF of all-time, 3 Rings, 3 MVPs)
- Kobe Bryant (#2 SG of all-time, 5 Rings, 30K Scorer)
- Wilt Chamberlain (1st man to 30K, 4 time MVP, career leader in Rebounds)
- Lebron James (#1 PF of all-time, 4 rings, 4 MVPs)
- Magic Johnson (#1 PG of all-time, 3 MVP's, 5 Rings)
- Michael Jordan (#1 SG all-time, 6 Rings 6 FMVP's)
- George Mikan (7 Championships, established the NBA)
- Oscar Roberston (#2 PG of all-time, ranked in Assists, Points, Rebounds)
- Bill Russell (11 time champion, 5 MVPs)

And I've got Tim Duncan, Jerry West, and Moses Malone in the 11-13 range and that's a hard hill to jump

Steph Curry - could make the top ten but he need 5K points (to hit 25K) and 2 more rings (to get to 6) to really be a credible top ten player.
Luka Doncic - has the best shot at being in that Kobe spot as the guy between greats who puts up insane numbers, going to need rings and MVP's but he's got a shot at 40K points
Giannis Antekounpo - 3 rings in Milkwaulkee would likely put him in the top ten. Right now he's in the 20's he might hit the teens but his age and situation hurts him.

Numbers...Moses is clearly the better player and context...two of Shaq's rings are shady

Moses
Points 29,580 (20.6 ppg)
Rebounds 17,834 (12.2 rpg)
Blocks 1,889 (1.3 bpg)

Hakeem
Points 26,946 (21.8 ppg)
Rebounds 13,747 (11.1 rpg)
Blocks 3,830 (3.1 bpg)

Shaq
Points 28,596 (23.7 ppg)
Rebounds 13,099 (10.9 rpg)
Blocks 2,732 (2.3 bpg)

I can make an articulate argument against Shaq...you however cannot because you are a fan boy.

Curry isn't top ten all time yet unless you maybe only look at players in the 3-point era. If we include all eras then Curry is still closer to top 15 or so. It's so weird how so many people hype Steph's "4 rings", but when KD is brought up people say KD's two rings are worthless. So if KD's two rings/FMVPs are worthless then so are two of Curry's rings since he didn't even win FMVP. And then his 2015 ring only occurred because Love/Kyrie were out.

Curry's resume is more like 2 mvps, 1 ring/1FMVP, 2 scoring titles. Very impressive for sure, but he ain't top ten yet.

2 MVPs
1 Finals MVP
4 All-NBA 1st teams
0 All-defensive teams

is not a top 10 resumé yet.

And Lebron.

As far as current players go, I'd give Giannis the best shot at cracking top ten, although he has a ways to go.
