View Full Version : Absolutely INSANE fact about the 1986-87 Indiana Pacers that I just found out

Did you know that not only did the 1986-87 Indiana Pacers not have any all-stars on their roster that season, but that their roster consisted of players who NEVER were or became all-stars in ANY seasons of their career. Seriously, how often does that happen. Can you find another team like this?
That's crazy, when you think about some random bums who were all-stars at one point of their career: James Donaldson, Dana Barros, Chris Gatling, Dale Davis, Jamal Magloire, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Mo Williams, etc... Yet those Pacers didn't have a single one of these random scrubs.
Despite this, they still had a .500 record that season and got the 7th seed, ahead of the Chicago Bulls... then along came Scottie.

I'd have guessed that Chuck Person made an all-star game somewhere in there, but he didn't.

A quick look shows that three of those guys peaked at almost 22 points per game, a third was at 20 pts 9 rebs 2asts 2blks...

Neither did the 2019 Clippers, who finished 11 games ahead of the Lakers.

Read subject of thread. That Clippers team still has active players, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who just turned 24, averaged 25, 5 and 6 last season. Technically, all is not lost for the 1986-87 Pacers though. In theory, a team could sign a 58 year-old Chuck Person and he could become an all-star. :oldlol:

I do agree that it would be embarrassing for a "GOAT" who remained healthy all season to finish behind that 2019 Clippers team though.

Yep.

And they're also a small market team....barely ever have all stars....

Ops little virgin pea brain can't figure out real talent and team success though...too blinded by Jordan raping his mind every.single.day.

Stay losing, op...you little virgin

Was pleasantly surprised how talented some of these guys were considering that they are actually five guys on that roster that averaged 20+ ppg in their primes.

I knew Person and Tisdale were good but never knew John Long was going for 22 a game in his peak or how Herb Williams was more than an enforcer type and was averaging 20 ppg along with 2.4 blocks. Kellog at his peak was at 20pts 11rebs 3asts 1.7stls

Here's another insane fact:

The 2022 Lakers had multiple MVPs, six all stars, and didn't even make the play-in tournament.

Looks to me you and your alts are obsessed with jordon, to an extent where you can't read and begin to see jordon everywhere.
My original post doesn't mention jordon at all. It mentions the struggles of the Chigago Bulls as a team who were outperformed by a team consisting of players who never were or became all-stars once in their careers, and it mentions the arrival of the man who would lead the Bulls out of those struggles: The Great Scott Pippen.

OP has convinced me. I've now moved Scottie Pippen up in my rankings ahead of Lebron.

Pippen - #10
Lebron - #11

OP is so busy trolling, he didn't even mention the fact that the team finished with a .500 record and made the playoffs. Probably didn't notice.
