Coach #1:

"I'd like to see him play better defense," Coach said, adding that he had addressed the issue recently with him but didn't come away with the idea that he was intent on changing his approach.

"You know him," Coach said with a chuckle. "He has his game plan. I think he heard me. But he feels there's a certain way he's got to play the game. But it doesn't involve a lot of basically sound defense."

Because the team need so much of his effort at the offensive end, he has adopted a save-energy plan on the defensive end, Winter said. "He's basically playing a lot of one-man zone. He's doing a lot of switching, zoning up, trying to come up with the interception.

"The way he plays defensively affects the team," Coach added. "Anybody that doesn't play consistently good defense hurts the team. That's not only him. Our other guards tend to gamble and get beat. Another problem is that the screen and roll is not played correctly."

Coach #2:

As the teams coaches gathered in a Las Vegas high school gym in July to watch what they assumed would be a casual pickup run between summer leaguers and the real Team, a scream pierced the air.

"FLARE SCREEN!" someone yelled with Game 7-level urgency. "FLARE SCREEN!"

It was the player. A few minutes later, he stopped the scrimmage, jogged over to the coaches, and asked how the Team defended an action the summer leaguers had just run.

"It was like Christmas," says The Coach, the Team’s associate head coach and defensive coordinator. "He is a militant, and I mean that in a good way."

You have legions of fans who really in general don’t know what the **** quality is, in life. Have no critical thought with almost anything regardless of the level of importance even to their on life, yet have the arrogance of calling one of these players a bum based on what they’ve been taught to believe.

They’re taught to believe, neither of these realities matter. While actually talking about the direct affect of what these quotes mean, ie defensive quality.

Anyway, thoughts? What’s you’re natural impression of these players. By the way both have virtually the same amount of MVP vote shares for their careers.

First one's definitely Kobe. Based off OP's post history 2nd one's gonna be Jokic.

First one might be Kobe, but I doubt the second one's Jokic.

I'm guessing the second guy is Harden. Don't really get the point of this thread tho. That most narratives are dumb? It's like...duh

You think Harden has the rep of being a killer and that he’s militant about defense in summertime practice games?

Hi, I’m Earth, I dont think we’ve met.

I agree with you. It's probably Ben Simmons.

It's CP3. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21842218/zach-lowe-james-harden-chris-paul-houston-rockets-nba

OP's agenda is hilarious tho. Why wouldn't CP3 be considered a loser? Dude never got past the second round as the best player on his team and has blown more 2-0 playoff series leads than player in history lmao
