LeBron (4x)
Curry (4x)
Kawhi(1x)
Giannis (1x)
Durant (2x)

(Curry and Durant were a Batman and Superman esque Duo not batman and robin like jordan/pippen so i credit them both as the guy)

short list huh?.... These are the true top 5 players in the league (WITH NO AGENDAS or BIAS in my list) Trust me it crushes me to list durant.... but i must tell the truth.

These players are in a tier above everyone else in the league... These are the true superstars. Until you win one you are not a superstar..... Everyone else is not......Yes, even your boyfriend (you reading this) HE IS NOT A SUPERSTAR! no matter how hard the media tries to push it. HE IS NOT A SUPERSTAR!

Amongst the bunch, only stephen curry wasn't able to garner a finals mvp the very first time he won a chip (ala kobe bryant) lmao.

I don't think you can put KD on that list. Even if he was the leading scorer/FMVP, it's beyond arguable who the most important player on that team by a SUBSTANTIAL margin was. KD at best gets co best player honors, as AD should for 2020.

Ad had a team = to giannis and quit on them.... matter fact his team was better than giannis. AD is not a superstar..... He is in the same tier as Harden and Jokic and the rest. He's an All nba level player. Thats a tier below superstar but a tier over highend all star player ( ben simmons, Kat, beal, ect)

Good list.

But Luka and Jokic are bonafide top 5 players in the league right now and almost any GM will take them over those 5. Even Giannis.

No.... Luka is like 22 and is the future face of the league....Thats why they would take him. This is about making money 1st.....Those are the true 5 superstars. Luka is a phenomenal player and im sure one day he will win a ring if he stops playing for stats.

Superstars (generational talent who has won a ring(s) as "the guy")

Larry Bird
Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Hakeem

ALL nba level players (able to reach the finals on a hot year or win an mvp)
Charles Barkley
Karl Malone
Patrick Ewing

High Level Allstar ( its possible he can get you 50 wins as the guy. almost a lock every year to make the all star team)
Alonzo Mourning
Carmelo Anthony
Chris Webber

The only team to ever win a ring without a superstar in the modern era is that 04 Pistons team....and that took an all time level cancer performance (kyrie irving level of sabbatage) by mr kobe bean for that to happen......Kobe was willing to throw the series to prove a point....the same way he threw game 7 vs the suns to prove a point(the same way kyrie tried to throw the series vs the ATL hawks in cleveland).... He was either gonna win Finals MVP or lose. He was not gonna let shaq get another mvp over him.....by any means and i dont blame him....He understood legacy ramfications, he was a very smart man. #youwontpippenme

Dirk

Yes. Dirk was a superstar

So Dirk wasn’t a superstar till 2011….and he was one from then on even while worse than he was from 01-11? How does this work?

You get it in retrospect after winning?

Was Jordan…the best and most popular basketball player in the world…not a superstar in like…March 1990?

Yes, he was a superstar in 2011. He finally learned how to close games thats all he needed to learn to finally push him over the edge. He finally stopped beating himself in the playoffs. He might of had another superstar level year but it was a lockout + they gutted his team. No he was not a superstar the rest of his career.

Durant Curry LeBron ect alll these dudes are still superstars right now today. Now ill admit the way KD got his ass beat by tatum has me worried about him....but ill give him the benefit of the doubt because he was missing a lot of players. No hakeem was not a superstar in 99 ect. Im sure lebron wont be a superstar anymore in 2028.

No Jordan was not a superstar. Larry bird was the best player in the nba in the 80s for a couple years, julius erving had a year, moses had a year, magic had a couple years, and Isiah thomas had a couple years. JORDAN WAS NEVER THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA IN THE 80s. JORDAN WAS NEVER A SUPERSTAR IN THE 80s. But damn did he change that in the 90s when he finally got put in a system...

no you dont get it in retrospect. If harden wins a ring this year its because he changed into a championship superstar caliber player. He wasnt a superstar even when he was averaging 36 ppg. just like jordan in the 80s.

Thats why i think luka will never get it. i dont ever see him allowing the pg to be the pg... or allowing his big men to rebound...he is a stat padding loser like westbrook....i just know it deep down. Thats why i call him jumbo westbrook or galactus (eater of careers)

I'm having trouble finding the year Dr. J was the best player in the NBA. '81 maybe? Then again he was outplayed by Bird in the ECF so I don't think so. Isiah? LOL, at his best he was borderline top 5. MJ was the clear cut best player by 1988 or so.

no.....nice try tho :oldlol:...The media cant control the narrative with me....i see through their agenda. no matter who they give the "awards" to

KG was the man in 2008
Curry was the man in 2015
Bird was the man whatever year they didnt give him finals mvp
tim duncan was always the man....

KG let rondo be the point guard
KG let paul pierce be the closer
KG Let ray allen take the game deciding shots

KG stopped trying to be the closer like he was in Minnesota
KG stopped trying to play pg and be the decision maker in the clutch like he was in Minnesota
KG stopped trying to be the one who took all the big shots

and he transcended to a superstar and won a ring...when he stopped trying to do other peoples jobs on the court...

then he started getting hurt after that year

the same way dirks superstardom was cut short because they finally "got it" late as **** in their careers.

Everyone doesnt figure it out early like kawhi turning into the terminator in toronto or giannis a couple years in.... it takes some ppl over 10 years. Everyone cant turn the worst team in the league to the best like bird his rookie year or win a championship instantly like magic their 1st year. Thats why they are superstars....thats what makes them special.....thats why its so hard to become one
