Consider the following….

The deer is either in or approaching it’s prime, it’s likely being chased or at least thinks it has reason to fear which gives it the adrenaline advantage, and it landed down hill giving it extra hang time.

James White is about 10 years past his physical prime there, he’s doing it for show so he doesn’t have the flight response adding to his leap, and he’s landing on a flat surface.

Knowing all that…

Which leap are you most impressed by?

The deer, considering it's just coming up a hillside

The deer is probably running for it’s life. Put a bear on James ass he’d take off from the top of the key,

Do humans actually perform better when it is life or death situation? Because i feel like competitions provide enough adrenaline. I have no idea though and it should be hard to prove.

That deer doesn't even make sense. What in the world? Looks like it jumped 40 foot.

There's levels to this, and humans just weren't built to jump like animals are. One of the craziest things I've see was a bobcat jumping over what was around a 7-foot wall from a standstill.

Check out the :35 mark of this:

You ever had one of those dreams where you take a running start with several gather steps, leap like it’s an Olympic event and then fly?

That’s what that deer just did. He wins.

I’ve had many many dreams where I can fly but it’s never very well. I can barely fly…like…with a running start takeoff and lane on top of a house. And in the dreams people are barely impressed because I suck at it. And I’m always amazed because flying poorly…should still be impressive. I’ve had some version of that dream every few years since I was a kid. Probably means something ridiculous subconsciously like not feeling like the world thinks I’m good enough or something.

the deer is a fawn. Maybe that is approaching prime with their lifespan? The deer wins

That could be average, standard level capability for deer. We have no way to really know.

Obviously most humans cannot do that dunk. So he wins.

The deer. Other side was past the free throw line. Lame
