The Phoenix Police Department released video Friday of a suspect who fatally shot two people and injured more before turning the gun on himself last month.

Isaiah Steven Williams, 24, exited his room at the Days Inn motel near 27th Avenue and Deer Valley Road at about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 armed and in tactical gear.

Video (WARNING: Graphic Content) shows Williams leaving the hotel out of a side door and immediately shooting an automatic rifle at nearby vehicles and buildings.

A white vehicle then pulled into the hotel parking lot and Williams took aim, shooting at the car.

Came from a 2 parent educated upper middle class family too. By his dad's FB posts it looked like that family did everything together, even when he was in 20s, they looked extremely tight knit. Ironically, one of his father's latest FB posts was praising Steve Kerr for condemning gun violence after the Uvalde school shooting despite allowing his son to keep a tactical arsenal within his home. His dad also seemed very liberal and may have rubbed off on his son in terms of victimization and anti-capitalist attitude.


According to recently released documents, friends told police that Williams once expressed interest in becoming a police officer or a marine.

However, in 2020, friends told police that Williams started to make anti-police and anti-government on social media. The friend claimed he called both systems "systemically corrupt."

His parents told officers that their son was not anti-police but anti-capitalist. According to his parents, Williams recently graduated from Arizona State University with a film studies degree. However, he wasn't able to get a job. They told officers their son became upset over several issues, including the pandemic, racial tension, police violence, and the economy.

In April, Williams' parents said they took away his AR-15 and a handgun because they were concerned he may hurt himself.
