Kobe was a definite hardworker but that also led him being too impractical with the team due to his selection of shots bt. By this i mean he has a tendency to become reckless that would lead to a lot of missed shots and like what the zenmaster phil jackson told about him before in one of his books, 'he tries to force the game instead of letting it come into him naturally' or something like that. Those awful decisions to take more shots when they aren't hitting also caused his team some grave consequences, like a number of ones that happened in the postseason and some of his teammates were disappointed about it. Jordan, otoh, was more disciplined and refined in that aspect.

There's a legitimate comparison aesthetically between Kobe and mid-late 90's MJ. Their games had a lot of similarities. MJ was more economic at this stage of his career and was better at getting good shots against tough defense. Kobe added some dibbling flair and was better at hitting tougher shots. Corner MJ and he would find a way to squeeze off a pretty good shot while squared up with his legs under him. Corner Kobe and he would squeeze off a leaning, double pump left handed fadeaway shot and hit them way more than he should have. Yet even the best of Kobe never looked as aesthetically pleasing as late 80's/early 90's MJ.
