Tony Parker or Pau Gasol?

I've always thought the vast majority would just take Pau in an instant but I just watched Bill Simmons podcast and he'd take Parker first over Pau.

I'm not asking who you'd take but I'm asking...are they that close to you that you'd take a couple seconds before deciding who to take?

I’d take Parker slightly. Both were very good players, just on the cusp of being great. But neither one of them I would classify as truly great players or superstars. They could impact the game and take over games on occasion, but they weren’t dominating games at will or for long stretches of time, neither one of those could guys could be placed on an average NBA team and take them to the playoffs either

Yeah it could go either way but they’re both the same tier of player. Throw in a Chris Bosh, Kevin Love in that tier, really really good players that aren’t great game changers or superstars. But perennial all stars.

Pau definitely. They’re similar levels but being a big man makes Pau more valuable here.

Pau. Hard to find a big man with his scoring skills and passing ability. His size gives me alot.

Parker (and I would take Ginobili over Pau as well) and it is not close. The best point guard scorer in the paint ever. Few signature moves. Winner mentality. 4 rings, two of them while being the head of the snake offensively.
