Asheville has so far seen 11 homicides in 2022, setting it on pace to surpass the homicide rate of 2021 and 2020. Rates of homelessness have increased 21% since 2021, according to data released in May. There is also evidence of increased Mexican drug cartel activity in the area

I've NEVER been a proponent of the anti-police movement. They were clearly and obviously necessary and we're finding that out now.

I do believe that police officers who truly do wrong should be held accountable, but that is made difficult systematically. Where the middle ground is there I don't know. But saying **** you to all of them is not the answer.

Ashville has 90,000 people. Having 11 murders makes it more dangerous than NYC because the homicide rate is basically double or nearly triple.

The entire defund the police movement is ludicrous. There is no systemic racism towards people of color, particularly black Americans, as far as policing goes.

What Liberals fail to realize is that there are millions of police interactions per day, and very rarely do they end in the death of a citizen. In addition, police departments each have their own jurisdictions. What happens in Akron Ohio is not indicative of what happens in Brooklyn New York, for example.

Liberals have painted police as the bad guys, even in cities like NYC where the police force is majority people of color. The NYPD is 55% minority.

They've also misrepresented the issue of police budgets. For example, they cry that NYC's police budget is more than entire countries. What they don't tell you is that NYC's police budget is only 6% of the entire fiscal budget, and that NYC has far more people than any other city in America.

Police are a necessary component of society. Unfortunately, it's black and brown people that suffer the most at the hands of criminals because those criminals are let back into black and brown neighborhoods. People forget that the Bill Clinton crime bill was signed off by black politicians like Maxine Waters because working class black and brown people were being terrorized by criminals. Criminals would leave jail/prison and return to those neighborhoods, committing the same crimes. Recidivism is almost at a 70% rate.

Liberals have destroyed black and brown neighborhoods, advocating for policy that directly impacts the lives of honest, hard working, black and brown Americans. Ask the family of Kristal Nieves, who was 19 when she was shot and killed in Harlem NY working at a Burger King. The perp was freed on cashless bail.

I say all of this as a person of color, an immigrant, living in NYC, raised in liberal ideas. The worst is yet to come, unfortunately, and liberalism has blood on their hands.
