I guess there's a video where Edwards is driving in the car with some friends and the camera pans to some people on a sidewalk and Edwards is heard saying "look at these ******s" or something to that effect.

I'm not sure what to think of this because I haven't heard Lebron react yet. Is this a big deal or not really? I'm not even fully convinced it happened, again I will wait to see what Lebron makes of this and if he doesnt feel it's worth acknowledging I will assume the video is doctored.

One thing we do know is that norms and mores generally dont come from the bottom. Theyre decided on by people at the top, then enforced by bureaucrat and media minions, then adopted by the broad masses. And censorship is almost always about keeping control.

So when a Lyndon Johnson says “Ill have those ******s voting Democrat for the next 200 years” in private, in order to achieve that, he’ll condemn the word and secure loyalty by declaring a “No N-Word Day” or some other such patronizing frivolity that actually work in politics because people are such easy marks.

Many would get reprimanded for these kinds of comments at work by their employer. Edwards is in the entertainment business. Everything he does in public affects his employer. That's the price you pay to make a living in the entertainment industry where your earning value is derived by how much people like you.

The trouble now is that with social media everyone has the potential to be in the same position as Ant. Where any public action could benefit or ruin them if they go viral. Even if they're an accountant or something that has nothing to do with public image. Because everything in society can be boiled down to likability. Lay the blame on the people who will get outraged which forces businesses to take these kinds of actions preemptively.
