Not playing may cause rust and the player to lose sharpness. Resting mostly helps older players. For players in the middle of their prime it is a wasted season.

The high draft pick didn't help win the most recent championship one iota since he didn't play a single game the entire season. His higher salary is still taking up cap space though.

It's interesting how Curry's team supposedly always faced an easy path yet that path always has high seeds and First Team All-NBA stars. The 2022 Warriors went through the Western Conference 6th, 2nd, and 4th seeds and the Eastern Conference 2nd seed to win the championship. Wiseman will likely develop like Jermaine O'Neal did entering in the league. Playing on a team with a set system that didn't need his skills. They obviously didn't intentionally tank. GS had an off year with injuries. It just happened to be the perfect storm.
