His best statistical season was at 25 ppg. And then Greg Popovich started cutting his minutes. He had team success because back then they were good at drafting international players. But I felt Duncan never reached the statistical dominance of some all time greats.

If Duncan decided he wanted to score 30 he could have.

Or if he decided to coast on defense all game, he could definitely average 30 ppg.

And his longevity was kinda overrated. He was like averaging 12-14 ppg in his later seasons.

He was drafted in 98 and was first team all NBA in 2013

Karl Malone was winning MVP at the same age. If Malone had a solid 2nd scoring option he could be winning multiple titles. A 41 years old Malone outplayed Duncan in the playoffs

LeBron is better than Duncan. More MVP, More Finals MVP. LeBron's sidekick never won a finals MVP over him.

Duncan won his rings without team-jumping and colluding.
Duncan had a better career, and Duncan is ahead of Bronie in the all time rankings.
Truth hurts.

More rings and zero with collusion or top tier help...just bringing out the best with what's around him and playing both ends of the floor.
Never had to run and reset with prime help...even won one last one with the old crew, putting up fmvp type numbers whilst anchoring the D and sending LeB1tch back to Cleveland like a fvcking embarrassing weak cvnt coward.
Also did it in 5 by the greatest margin OF ALL TIME
Oh yeah, swept the b1tch in 07 too
Prime Bron needed Bosh to clean his brick up and a Ray Allan miracle to get ONE against the old man

^And played consistently good defense even well after his prime which made his offensive numbers go down. But he isn't some self centered player ya know.

Duncan unquestionably had the skillset to average 30+ PPG... but then he wouldn't have been Tim Duncan.
Players like Duncan, Curry, Pippen and Magic are the dream teammates to have if you want to win rings.

Let's not forget FG% Per Shot Taken. Cause as Wilt said "If you take all the shots...then you should be making them at the highest %". Tim Duncan was a consistant 50 plus% FG scorer.

The real question isn't whether Duncan could have averaged two more points in a season, but whether Duncan was better than LeBron James.
Of course, most of us would agree that LeBron is the more dominant player from a physical standpoint (higher numbers across the board) and has had the better career (more regular season MVPs).
But Duncan is the greater player with the greater career. He had leadership skills from Day one, and won the Spurs' first title in his second year. While Poppovich's strategic minutes management did extend Duncan's career, that was largely because he had a bad knee. If you watched Duncan play after he turned 30, you'd notice he limped as he ran the floor. Despite this, and perhaps because of it, Duncan remained an effective defender and leader during the back end of his career, and continued to help the Spurs dominate the league, right up until the end. The Spurs were the ones pushing the Golden State Warriors to 73 wins in 2016 because they did not clinch the first seed until the last week of the season.

And Duncan didn't have to make a "Decision" to go to a stacked superteam to win his championships.

The answer is, of course, if he played for stats
The dude 100% played for wins and wins only
