Haven't seen it yet, but if true, imagine if Kenny was still around. We would see numerous topics of him propping up Kobe because of the doc, he would then get trolled, throw a racist temper tantrum about jews and leave again. :lol

In 2008 - 56 missed shots. He shot 46% from the field.

LeBron missed 33. He shot 60% from the field.

LeBron averaged more ppg than him in less minutes.

In 2012 - 40. He shot 43% from the field.

LeBron missed 29. He again shot 60% from the field.

He again averaged more points than Kobe.

Some things

They never mention the first massive disappointment USA team, the 2002 team, that lost on domestic soil no less and I think placed far worse than even bronze status.

No one ever mentions the 2003 team, that similar to the 2007 and 2008 redeem team, totally curb stomped competition.

That was the one that had prime Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen and Jason Kidd. Which basically all but AI pulled out of the 2004 Olympics.

I’m glad they covered the fact that the 2004 really didn’t play rookies LeBron, Wade and Carmelo all that much.

I love that they mentioned Dwyane Wade as that option right after Kobe and LeBron during that 2006 to 2008 era as one of the three best players in the league. And that he had to win himself an opportunity to get on the team, and did the most with it, producing and basically carrying the team for large stretches of the tournament and especially in the Gold Medal Game due to …

It was obvious the officiating put America’s two best players in foul trouble extremely early in that gold medal game to make it competitive, particularly out smothering defense.

Kobe Bryant was our best perimeter defender and LeBron was a very versatile rotation and team defender in that tournament, and both of them got put into foul trouble very quickly and foul calls that weren’t remotely even close to being fouls. Very suspect.

And Dwyane Wade carried us until both of them could be on the court without being in foul trouble late in the game.

The gold medal game was a microcosm of team USA before Kobe Bryant got there.

Kobe Bryant restored the intimidation, swagger and mystique as well as dominance for the American team.

He brought defenses and cold blooded clutch gene when the going got tough, and the outcome of the game was truly in jeopardy.

Particularly through his efforts, much like Michael Jordan in the 1992 dream team, defensively. While allowing others to flourish offensively, and he focused strictly on playing Top Tier elite smothering defense on whatever team they were facing’s best perimeter player.

Mamba was clearly the culture changer, as they had still lost as recently as the previous summer by not being able to play defense against a Greek team allowing a poor man’s Glenn Big Baby Davis to torture them.

That team was in awe of Kobe. And he set the tone in that meeting saying defense and rebounding wins championships. And he was right.

Anyway, great doc from Wade and Bron. This, Last Dance, Winning Time and Laker Legacy were all total fire. So was the And1 doc on Untold on Netflix.

Kobe wasn't good enough to qualify to be on 2004 team.

No it all started with getting Kobe on the 2007 FIBA America team. And him and to slightly lesser extent J-Kidd setting example by playing smothering defense. Before Kobe it was back to back Bronze.

I noticed when the talked about the baggage Kobe brought to the Redeem team, they never mentioned his rape allegations.

They just mentioned his running Shaq outta LA and his demanding a trade in '07.

Kobe has completely rehabilitated his image.

Exactly it started with that game where he was giving lebron the business as usual and the game winner.

Lebron was all layups and dunks in transition of course, couldn't finish the game with kobe all in his face.

You love lebron and hate Kobe as a longtime lakerfan in LA, loser :oldlol: Never gets old

Once Kobe got blocked by LeBron, he realized he was playing with a different tier of animals. For once in his life he decided not be an ass to be his teammates and let LeBron & Wade lead the team during the Olympics while he just focused on defense.

That play HUMBLED Kobe.

Pat Da Rock was the best of that class. And by that point And1 wasn’t the game changer it was before. So I get why it got cut.

We learnt how secure Bron is in his status as the GOAT, executive producer and in no way felt the need to bring another legend down in Kobe Bryant.

We take a look at The Last Dance however, and MJ takes jab after jab at Pippen, insecurity on show

Actually he gave him props. Reality was addressed, that’s all. Kobe was an alpha, and the leader of that team. He also saved them in the clutch of the gold medal game, so what would there be negative to say anyway? :oldlol:

These are facts! Kobe changed that culture. Lebron may have 4 bronze medals without Kobe committing.
