Magic was only 5-4 in the Finals - how do you lose 4 times with Kareem?.. So Magic is nowhere near MJ, who would never lose with Kareem..
And Magic is really 4-5 in the Finals because of the bad call on Laimbeer in Game 7 of 1988.
Overall, Magic and Lebron are 9-10 in the Finals (mostly with super-teams), which confirms the low team ceiling of ball-domination - indeed, if Magic and Lebron are losers with that style, then no one can be an overall winner with it (on the championship level).
I'm not sure that Reggie Miller in Magic's place doesn't win more Finals - Miller was more competitive against MJ with no help in 98' than Magic was in 91' with a great cast.. Miller isn't better than Magic, but Bird and Curry certainly are
