Jordan was assigned as the primary defender on point guards like Isiah, Tim Hardaway, Strickland, Payton and more - he normally locked them up as the highlight reels show ample footage of - he held these guys to horrible shooting in most of the series that he guarded them.

Strickland is probably one of the hardest players to stay in front off - it's the guy Kyrie modelled most of his game after. One of the most underrated players in NBA history, too.

Not sure about the agenda of this OP with Lebron in his username - probably just copying what he sees his peers do.

imagine jordone trying to defend in an era where points actually try to score. the bulls liked to hide his soft ass on pgs so he wouldn't get bullied by bigger/stronger wings. now who they hiding the fraud on defensively.

This was against a guy who never made the all-star game in an era with 18/3/8 and 20 on .415/3/9 = All-NBA 1st team guard standards.
Now imagine if he regularly faced guards with 31/4/6 = not good enough for an all-star game standards.

The stupid takes from this guy never stop :lol

You're living in fantasyland, bro...no one but extreme Bronies share your viewpoints, whom are as delusional as you are. Keep with the idiotic takes though, your reputation as one of the worst posters here is safe.

Except in the cases where the PGs themselves were big and strong:

He is either is an outright troll who always posts shit knowing they are straight up lies or he is a delusional hater whom the GOAT has on skates 24/7. Any unbiased NBA expert/fan knows MJ is one of the best wing defenders ever, like it's not even up for debate, this Jabronie32 trying to argue that the Bulls hid MJ on defense is such a breathtakingly bad take it has to be trolling, right? He can't be THAT stupid, can he? :lol

Compare the average PPG and pace of play from years like 1997 and 1998 and compare them to 2020 and 2021 where Beal put up 31 PPG. The league instituted minor rule changes to restrict bs baiting and flopping that guards would do. Beal went from averaging 8 FTA a game to 5 FTA. His PPG dropped from nearly 31 PPG to 23 PPG. His FG% dropped from 49% to 45%.

Now drop the pace and PPG. Make the league average 95 PPG as opposed to 110 PPG. Drop the pace, introduce hand-checking, and eliminate freedom of movement rules. What's Beal putting up now? He'd be putting up 14-15 PPG on 42% in the 90s all the way up to about 2005.

PGs are putting up better numbers because of two things, the game has evolved to the point where modern PGs are offensive threats, they look to score and not just facilitate which was their primary goal back then and two, defenses has been defanged, it's a whole lot easier to score when defenders can't impede your way to the lane and can't lay a hand on you. Throw these modern PGs back to the 90s, mid 2000s and most would be SGs and their offensive output would take a hit.

Context, Goatits.
