Thoughts? I myself do think he has an argument for GOAT athlete, perhaps also career if you disregard his penchant for teaming up with superstars...having said that, I don't believe he's overall the GOAT because he never dominated an era, you need to at least have a threepeat (threepeats are very rare) to make the argument that said player dominated IMO. The video makes a lot of good arguments overall and I believe it's pretty fair in it's analysis of LeBron James...

He’s not the GOAT scorer although he’s obviously a great scorer. He has an argument for GOAT player but I’d give it to MJ from what I know. He is definitely top 3 though. He definitely could be the GOAT athlete in basketball history, his athleticism is superhuman.

Good retort, and I agree. Dude is a super freak of an athlete. At least you made an argument, unlike other dumb dumbs who only use emojis and think they made a clever argument

'Tis why MJ is considered the GOAT (after his first threepeat) Shaq in the elite GOAT tier list and Russell too no? Just because you don't agree with that doesn't make it not worthy as an argument

Just a few weeks ago you said Wilt has a case for GOAT because of his stats, never even came close to 3 peating.

Why the contradictions bro?

If you factor in making money he could be said to have the greatest career. Greatest athlete is Jim Thorpe from a historical perspective and Deion or Bo Sanders for demonstrated ability to cross over and be great at other sports. I think James could have made the NFL and been a superstar but it's completely unproven. As for greatest player of one sport it's Jordan,Kareem or one of the undefeated or almost never defeated boxers.

I said that Wilt has an argument if you strictly go with stats and records, Russell's argument is if you strictly go with rings...I never said that was MY criteria, it's subjective...keep up

I've said it before, I have no problem if someone has Russell as GOAT I've said the same about Wilt and KAJ too.

Just not 4/10 loser Bran

Again, I've debated older heads who view Wilt (pure stats and NBA records) and Russell (11 chips) as their GOAT, if that's their criteria, then that's their opinion and who am I to tell them it's not viable? What's LeBron's argument? Longevity right? Well KAJ also has that but he has more accolades? More rings and MVPs :confusedshrug:

Go ahead and give me your reasoning why LeBron should be GOAT  Stats? Wilt has him beaten there, rings? A handful have him beaten there. Longevity? KAJ has that PLUS has more accolades...what's your angle? Because you're a stan? :lol

It's easily Babe Ruth IMO.

He played in a league that excluded all black players. That's a huge asterisk.

I agree with everything you said (minus GOAT career), but in addition to that, his epic choke jobs took him out of the GOAT discussion in my opinion.

If you want to be honest, LeBron is going to pass Kareem in longevity, he's gonna have the points record, at ages 35-37 LeBron was the better individual player, he won all of his chips as the best player, use some context bro, Kareem won two titles as a 17 and 14 ppg player.

Outside top 5 but maybe top 10 depending on what we do with pure scorers who didn’t last like Bernard King, top 2-3, top 7ish at worst, top….4? Nobody is realistically going to have a better career than Russell or Kareem we just choose not to acknowledge it and if anyone did it’s Jordan. Nobody else has a top 3 career argument but he’s in there for 4th with a few options.

3-peat is the apex of domination in 3-pointer history

Anything less is infact inferior domination

How about 3-peating as scoring champ while defeating maximum defensive attention (carrying scoring load) - that's goat and only 1 guy reached that level

Wilt does have a case for GOAT because of his stats. Personally, I have him ranked #3 since his teams underacheived. But if he would have three-peated, I'd probably have him as GOAT.

Thing about this thread is he very well may not be for any of those categories, however he's either got a killer argument or at least in the conversation for each. Alot of you guys, even old heads fail to realize this is the exact reason we see Mj as the goat. He doesn't really stand alone in any of the criteria you'd say were major points of a goat debate, but he's in the top handful of almost any conversation to be had, which strangely enough Lebron falls into the same niche. The only difference is they have different aspects they stand higher in than the other.
