Been watching lakers preseason and all I have to say is we are BACK baby! Now with a new coach we are playing defense, setting screens and running real plays. Beastbrook looks solid. AD put on a show yesterday and showed why he is still the best skilled big man in league. Nunn is automatic buckets. Wenyan and pat bev are nasty two way guys. And we got the most lethal white boys in the league with Austin and Matt Ryan. And oh yeah, last but not least, we got LeGOAT quarterbacking it all. The championship parade next summer is gonna hit different than any other championship parade in history. BOOK IT.

I don't see them getting past Memphis in any scenario.
Grizzlies are young, hungry and better than last year.
Last year's Warriors were MUCH better than Laker will be this year and they barely got past younger, less experienced, injured version of Grizzlies.

They couldn't have made these trades going into the season. Moving both 1sts (unprotected) for 2 role players wasn't going to happen. Not a single competent FO would make that trade in Rob's place. At best they could have been a 5-6 seed right now with AD & Bron missing all these games with a worse roster than what they put together right now and it still wouldn't have been a guarantee that they ended up in the POs. Jazz & Thunder will likely finish with a worse record and then you have to hope that they catch up to either Portland/Minny/GS which is possible given that they have to play all of those teams multiple times to end the season. Lakers have one of the easiest remaining schedules (24th based on current opponent win%) while GS, Minny and Portland are at the top half so it's doable.
